The Sickness called Israel's Media

This evening, Palestinian terrorists fired rockets from the Gaza Strip at an Israeli kibbutz "Netiv HaAsara."

A 22 year old Israeli woman, was killed by the rocket's impact, when it crashed through the roof, killing her instantly.

Israel's Channel One news service raced to the scene. Being the first ones to get video footage of the destroyed house, the camera crew rejoyced, toasting and drinking champagne in their news van, seconds after they filmed their prize winning video.

Ariel Sharon has certainly done a number on Israel:

IDF soldiers turned the Jewish Gush Katif bloc into a Ghetto.

Israeli Film crews toasting champagne after filming the bombed out house of an Israeli, murdered minutes before.

I know, I know - everyone's just following orders.

  1. can you please explain how Anything that the Tv Crew of Channel 1 does has anything to do with Sharon?? Although it is a Govt. run Tv Station but (unlike what you would like us to think) Sharon does not send the crews out.. or maybe they are from the Shabak..

also.. we all act as if no one knew that Gaza was going to be closed. The Tzav Aluf was issued a while ago.. we should stop living in Denial and wake up to the fact the we are going through this, weather we like it or not.

The tzav issued by the Aluf "a while ago" was against moving there. Not against people going in. The tzav from 2 weeks ago was temporary. What Denial? Its currently a fact, that Gush Katif is now a ghetto. you need to go to the Ghetto administration to get in, show your papers, etc. Its a Fact, like it or not.

Regarding Sharon - he doesn't order the TV crews to do anything. Its the Atmosphere that he's responsible for.

Tell me - you don't find the behaviour of the channel 1 news crew absolutely disgusting???

Gotta run and shower the kids.
    Shabbat shalom.

  3. of course I think that what they did was disgusting (not suprising though) and if I thought that protesting the issue would make a difference to the people in charge of channel one I would do something...

    Shabbat Shalom.

    p.s. - Whats LIFO??

  5. Cosmic X: If you click on them, they appear clearer - you can see a film crew opening/pouring wine/champagne. There were eyewittneses who took the pictures and reported the context.

  6. Jameel, if you want to call it a ghetto, that's fine by me. We've basically come to that point in the road where we've agreed to disagree, and we'll see who ends up being right. However, I'd just like to point out that there are many holocaust survivors that have and are taking much offense to the hitnatkut continuously being spoken of with holocaust terms. That's not what this is. That's not who we are. So, we should cut the name writing on arms, wearing orange stars, etc just for dramatic and emotional effect. It's insulting and disgusting to those who actually lived through the worst humanity had to offer. Let's show them a little respect.

  7. OC: Yes, you've pointed it out that some survivors are offended by it. Other survivors are freaked out by the Sharon's family's intent of brutal expulsion, and THEY feel otherwise about the use of imagery. Its ALSO their right.
