Not everyone liked Sharon's UN speech

  1. Well, what do you expect?

"Sharon the hero"... of course, only HALF a hero, since he did not commit to give away all of Eretz Yisrael, yet...

The interesting thing is that he spoke in front of the UN General Assembly on 11 Elul.

The HaYom Yom for that day (ask any Lubavitcher what the "Ha Yom Yom" is!) goes like this:

"On Shabbat Teitsei 5603 (1843), at the Kiddush table by day, the Tzemach Tzedek said: "This world is a world of falsity (Alma deShikra), therefore even good is adulterated with chaff and must be purified 'from below upward' as well as from 'Above downward.'"

There you go! Alma deShikra, Olam HaSheker! When Israel spoke in her own defense, the UN hooted her down. When the Sharon regime succumbed and surrendered Gush Katif and Northern Shomron, he became the sudden hero!
