The Big Question

I have a question. It’s something that has been bothering me for a while. That something just does not compute. Totally lacking logic. Really, I don’t get it.

Liberals, Progressives, Lefties. Yeah, you. The folks who believe in the primacy of human rights, the right to a free press, the right to sexual freedom, reproductive rights, environmental rights, etc. etc. You know who I’m talking about. These are all the things you stand for. Oh yeah, minority rights, freedom of religion (or freedom from religion), am I missing anything? I’m sure you all can come up with a few more.

One would, if using straight logic, think that given a fight between two groups, one who embraces all of these things whole heartedly and one who found every last item on that list an anathema the logical choice would be to side with those one agreed with. Correct me if my thinking is off here.

Yet, it always seems, those enlightened elites, those bastions of liberal right thinking, all seem to support the most backwards primitive crowd in its genocidal war against a left wing liberal democracy. Of course I’m talking about the Arab-Israeli conflict, more specifically the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.

On one side you have Israel. Where everything goes, the press is free and so is the love. Women have full rights; heck there’s even been a woman Prime Minister. Homosexuals don’t get stoned in the streets. Young girls aren’t beaten to death because they thought they might go have coffee with the boy down the street. You certainly aren’t strung up if you sell land to a Christian, or a Muslim, or a Buddhist or even a Jew.

On the otherside…well, you have Homosexuals stoned in the streets, young girls killed by their own brothers and fathers for falling in love with the wrong fellow, the death penalty for selling land to a Jew. No respect for the environment goes without saying. Corruption, torture, extortion. These are a way of life. Chance after chance, yields nothing but more.

It can’t be Israel’s human rights record. There isn’t an Arab country in the world with a better record then Israel. The only difference being, if you report something in Israel it makes the front page and people lose their job and go to jail. In the Arab world, you report something and you lose your job and go to jail.

And who do you support?

There’s a saying: Just because I’m paranoid, doesn’t mean people aren’t after me. Should we see anti-Semitism under every rock? No, but you certainly make it hard not to.

Wherever I am, my blog turns towards Eretz Yisrael

  1. I do agree with what you say, but what does to do with killing people?!

There is divide world, it is all over us, look into africa. Is it any better? Should we try to change the people think or just kill inicent to get rid of radical?

The problems is, what you are saying is correct but the approach taken is not helping the matter.

Let's say in few days there will be a cease-fire.
what can we say that was the outcome of this war? some deaths and so much hate injected into Israil and Lebanon. It may has weaken HA but it has not destroyed it and they will use that HATE again to do which we don;t want to.

I believe in defence but this was has not been just defending. When Israeil was setting the aim of destorying HA they had t be mroe careful knowing what would be the consequences if they don't manage to sucees that.

As said in other posts, I have read so many Labenes blogs and most of them beleived that HA was becomin un-popular and their end was close. But this war has given them more chance to inforce them over people and make more threats for Israel and others on the world.

Thats why we are against the war. Maybe if there was some diplomatic talk and exchange of prisoners would let people to rally against HA as they did against Syrian army in Labnone.

Anyway, I guess it is too late for all these. Today mroe people are getting killed and both parties will change what they calim as conditions for a cease-fire. and thats a shame. cuz thats more politics than anything else

  2. Zionism and American 'christian zionism' are the most deadly and perverse beliefs known to man because they both attribute their superiority and ability to carry out all manner of wickedness and evil behavior to a 'god' that is itself perverse.

IF they were children of the Creator then they would know how to reflect the truth and light that is found in HIM, but since they DO NOT and CANNOT it becomes clear whose children they REALLY are.

But then it doesn't take a genius to figure that one out, just someone that seeks the truth rather than to perpetuate lies.

There is still time to repent.

  5. As long as Israel and the USA stand and survive as free countries that offer freedom and liberty to their citizens the two countries will be linked together abd hated by the world? Why? Because Israel and the USA prove the inadequacies of Islamic governments and of socialist governments. Either we must be destroyed are they eventually will be destroyed from within.

  6. Litvshe.

I agree with everything you said. There is no other country in the world that protects civilians of its enemy at the expense of its own lives and the lives of its own civilians, like Israel. But to the world it makes no difference. We will always be blamed as the source of all evil. It's just a part of our destiny. Logic makes no difference here. Besides, EU is the same EU from before WWII and appeasement is its policy. So it doesn't care who is on its side as long as its enemy is fighting someone else at the moment.

    2 quotes come to mind:
    1) V.I. Lenin: Capitalists will sell us the rope and the soap which we will use to hang them. (And this is what EU is doing with the Muslim terrorism)
    2) Al Bundy's neighbor: In order to win the war, sometimes you have to burn a village. (And this is war against us, so it's our right to burn every village we need to burn, because if we don't we will be thrown in to the sea to the great delight of the world.)

  8. What people have to understand is that Israel tries to only hit Hezbollah, but because Hezbollah hides in the middle of the civillians, people get hurt. If Israel were to stop, that would be bad for both Israel and Lebanon because Hezbollah would continue to hurt both countries. And so Israel and Lebanon should both try to get rid of Hezbollah so they can't attack anymore.

  9. You hit the nail on the head, this is the issue, this needs to be said and made a point of over and over again maybe forever. Habit is a bad thing, and habit is what is going on with these folks you mention, they have to wake up and get it right or they undo themselves and us, all of us.

  10. PS: anyone looking around with eyes open know that Hizbollah set up those people to die like that, they have before and they will continue because that is their way, they have to be called on it and a point has to be made of that too.

The UN observer email indicates Hizbollah using the UN posts the same way, he said Israel HAD to do what they did. This is the case.

  13. I tend to be a bit on the liberal side, myself, but I still can't understand how, when terrorists took out the World Trade Center and a chunk of the Pentagon, noboby said boo when my native United States bombed the bleep out of Afghanistan, but Israel can't drop one bomb without being accused of reacting "disproportionately." I'm beginning to take the words of the prayer ". . . lo asanu k'goyei ha-aratzot," which, roughly translated, means that we were not made like the other peoples of the earth, rather literally.

  14. Daat,
Esav sonei le Yakov is not the reason or the cause, it is merely the description.

That said, I have no clue what the cause is, though for each example of Esav farsoneiung Yakov I encounter I can figure out a why.

    Litvshe,
Indeed, we should not see anti-Semitism under every rock - it detracts from our arguments and our nuance.
But you are right, it is remarkably easy to think that it is under every rock. And having lifted some of those rocks, I'm willing to argue that if there is no anti-Semitism under that rock at present, it was there not too long ago; the smells still lingers.

What I find baffling is this: one side regrets the death of every innocent bystander, both their own and on the other side. The other side hands out candy when innocent bystanders have been killed. So how can one not see a difference?

Only for one side is the death of innocents a cause for joy.

I am a screaming liberal. But I think many of my fellow travelers soft in the head and hypocritical.
Just because someone's heart is in the right place does not mean that his head isn't up his rectum.

  18. Do you know, I agree with "Kishnevi":

Yesterday I watched (on sky news) the impromptu rally that gathered in London following the Qana headlines- thousands of educated people (I can even vouch some of them) chanting slogans about Lebanon and Palestine (like that's the same issue!) alongside many other people who in a different context might stone them for being infidels.

There does seem to be a widespread predisposition to make Israel into the "overdog" (I think I just made up that word). And in view of the fact that the vitriol levelled towards us in indeed disproportionate, even I agree that it would be blind not to ascribe it to anti-semitism to some degree.

  19. Guess what. Turning the other cheek does nto work in this day and time. Do you think evil satan's demons such as Hamas & Hezlabloh care about a human life? I DO NTO THINK SO. Get a grip already. !! Your quote below.God bless Israel & God bless America.

  20. I, too, have always wondered why the level of Israel-hatred around the world is so ridiculously high. I mean, people would rather side with TERRORISTS than with us. The only answer is the anti-Semitism that's so deeply ingrained in so many people. And since the Arabs are the enemy of the Jews (their choice, not ours), you have the whole "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" thing at work.

  21. TO THE COMMENTER James ABOVE.
You can beleive that if you want to but that is not the way it is. You need to go back to history classes. NO DOUBT.

I have studied all of what is going on in the world today and from years before and after CHRIST.

MAYBE YOU SHOULD DO THE SAME.

Ignore is the best way. Let them run off at the mouth all they want. They are useless. Just ignore. Not worthy of any debates.
