Aliyah – Practical Steps

Is Aliyah for you?

Nefesh b’Nefesh thinks so. In fact they are running a major campaign right now to help make the process smoother and your decision easier.

To begin with, they have their
application form (which I guess is for those of you already on the more serious track, or in need of more immediate information such as about Financial Assistance and Aliyah Services).

But for the rest of you, if you are still not sure, if you are worried about your options, if you don’t know what to expect...

Well, for all of you, Nefesh b’Nefesh is running live Webinars where you can learn all about Aliyah, and get answers to the different questions you might have.

Here is a list of upcoming Webinars.

- Rights and Benefits and the Aliyah Process
- Communities in the Sharon Area

- The Israeli Resume

- Community Information and Resources for Beit Shemesh/Ramat Beit Shemesh

- Downloaded an Application, What's Next

- The Physician Aliyah Fellowship

- The Shipping Process

- Rights and Obligations of Army Service (for ages 17-26)

- How to Prepare your Children for Aliyah

It’s like having a Shaliach visit your house (presumably with better information. If you made Aliyah before NBN existed, you know what I mean, and are probably still paying for it).

Click here for the times and dates of all the Webinars and local Seminars.

And if you’re a doctor, it’s unbelievable,
grants and assistance up to $60,000!!!!!!

I’m quitting my job and going to Med school (oh, and then figuring out how to make Aliyah twice).

Anyway, if you are even just curious about Aliyah. Check it out.

Wherever I am, my blog turns towards Eretz Yisrael טובה הארץ מאד מאד

  1. It wouldn't make much sense to go to med school just for the aliyah benefits considering that med school costs a heck of a lot more than $60,000! :-P

  2. ah, the good ol' days of lies my shaliach told me. well, at least we can say, back when WE made aliya there was none of this namby pamby hand holding. seriously though, it is great to have all these landsman making aliyah. irregardless of the hand holding - LOL.

  3. I find it really depressing that doctors make so little in this country. I don't think 60,000 dollars is going to make a huge difference. Doctors who make aliya are usually commuters--which is great, better that than not coming at all. But Israel NEEDS more doctors, and American-trained doctors are some of the best. But they don't work here, because doctors here are paid so little, never mind the lifestyle they are used to living in America.

  4. I hate Nefesh b'Nefesh.

Still recommend them, but hate them nonetheless.

    It's a personal thing.
