Note: This is NOT a spoiler for Srugim #9.
Did any of you go to the Cinematheque in Jerusalem to see Srugim? Or meet the characters? Or see Laizy the Director?

I missed it so far, becauce I was in the USA last Monday on behalf of Nefesh b'Nefesh (I still have one or two more posts to write about that, as well as the JBlogger conference).
However, life in Israel goes on. If you thought I was going to let a trip to the US prevent the Muqata blog from getting exclusive pictures of Laizy, "Yifat" and "Amir" -- you have got to be kidding. (We all have our priorities).

Note: These pictures are NOT photoshopped and are 100% authentic.
Last week, Laizy, together with Amos Tamas (Amir) and Yael Sharoni (Yifat), showed up at my yishuv. Not wanting to miss out, my oldest grabbed our handy "Muqata" banner (used exclusively for Aliya Homecoming arrivals and Srugim cast appearances) and made sure to take some pictures with Laizy and cast.
Come on, what could be cooler?
Fine, I'm sure the "Lion of Zion" will make some snarky remark about Srugim being a soap opera, but I have yet to find anyone who dislikes the show.
Blogging will be light this week, since we're going on vacation; camping at the beach and then going up north to the Golan)
Wherever I am, my blog turns towards Eretz Yisrael טובה הארץ מאד מאד
enjoy your holiday :)
ReplyDeleteand i can vouch for that not being photoshopped pictures!!! suitably impressive :)
Sarah: I'll have to have another post with your name in lights for creating the banner ... and the t-shirt :)
ReplyDeleteI think Yifat should dump Nati so fast and go for Amir. Or is that too obvious?
ReplyDeleteBaila: Yifat wouldnt dump Nati for Amir...after all, Amir's divorced.
ReplyDelete:-/
(Thats a depressingly cynial comment based on the theme of the way Amir's been treated on the show, not my personal opinion, obviously)

That was the attitude of Reut's silly younger sister (and maybe of Reut herself). But I think it's unfair to acribe it to Yifat as well. Yifat won't "dump" Nati because she loves him, plain and simple. She can't help it. She loves him so much that she'd rather run away to a yishuv somewhere, to try and escape from the close presence of the the man she loves but who won't reciprocate her feelings.
you may soon have to start paying all of the folks (related or not) who seem to mysteriously step in for you when you're not there. either that, or morph into some kind of settler super hero (super jameel?) so you can cover all of this stuff yourself!
ReplyDeletehave a memorable and wonderful getaway!!!!!!
Don't know anyone who doesn't like the show, but do know several people who do not watch it (because it reminds them of a world they wish to escape)
ReplyDeleteIs being divorced still such a stigma over here among those circles?
ReplyDeleteIn America, everyone and their husband is divorced.
Who's got the DVD? Lurker? Jameel?
ReplyDeleteWhy are there no orange Yarmulkas on the show?

Is it normal for Israelis to wear what appear to be American t-shirts? I never realized that our clothing had traveled so far...that's actually scary. No wonder everyone hates America. :-P
ReplyDeleteto the yishuv
ReplyDeletewow!

I think Yifat should dump Nati so fast and go for Amir. Or is that too obvious?
ReplyDeleteDon't you remember the look on her face when Amir bumped into her at the coffee shop while she was waiting for her internet date.
"Don't tell me it's you?!?"
Did Laizy Shapiro appear in the first episode as one of the guys at the speed dating thing where Yifat and Nati met?
ReplyDeleteYea; he was the guy Nat interrupted to ask Yifat to leave with him.
ReplyDeleteSo which one is the man in the middle - wow - he's gorgeous! Yummy, yummy.
ReplyDeleteSeries creator, Laizy Shapira, is the man in the middle.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely yummy...I think we should start a fan club!
ReplyDeleteThe important question is....IS HE SINGLE??? ;-)
