Things are heating up at the Peace House in Hebron. Hundreds of Jews from all over are converging at the location, as the city is filling up with Yassam and Magav soldiers/policemen.
Extreme police violence is expected.
11:25 Police on loudspeakers are shouting orders.
12:02 Police shooting teargas, rocks being thrown, Arabs throwing rocks.
12:24 Police not doing anything right now. The local army base is packed with forces.
2:30AM Police reinforcements arrive.
3:00AM Police shoot rock grenades and tear gas.
It's a regular war zone.
Cameraman catches on film a policeman beating up a settler boy.
Generally assumed that the police did not go in to evacuate the house was due to the resistance they met outside.
Wherever I am, my blog turns towards Eretz Yisrael טובה הארץ מאד מאד
How ironic - on one line "police shooting teargas...Arabs throwing rocks" and on the next טובה הארץ מאד מאד
ReplyDeleteNot contradicting anything you've said here, just commenting on the irony.unco
There is a conspiracy of silence from the MSM that is telling of their deep and fundamental biases.
ReplyDeleteNo news -- no reports -- no shabbat event was mentioned. While anything happening at the Peace House over the past few days should have been major news, it was ignored.
Disgusting.
occidentalisraeli: The land is very, very good, even if there are those in the government who are corrupt and evil.
ReplyDeleteI've always stood foursquare in support of the presence of Jews in Hebron, their right to be there (having purchased houses) and the obligation of Israel's government to support them....
ReplyDeleteBUT does no one there think that they might not be doing themselves any good whatsoever by putting graffitti on mosques and cemetarys? I may be thinking like a 'galus jew', but the moral highground seems the best path to take, along with not giving justification for a second gush.
By the way, I'm a right-wing Republican orthodox jew from just outside of Manhattan

ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you're embarrassed to say you live in New Jersey :)
