Where is the Land of Israel?

The Land of Israel is anywhere where "Egged Buses" get to. (Egged Bus ad circa 1991).

See? Settlements used to be non-apologetically, part and parcel of the Zionist Dream.

Extra Points for anyone who can identify the location in the above poster.

  3. Clearly Egged had their own position on the halakhic dispute between modern poskim regarding the borders of Eretz Yisrael...

  4. Egged was basing itself upon this verse:

"Every place whereon the tires of your buses shall tread shall be yours"
    -- Devarim 11:24

  5. hmm... is it Shaked, or one of the other Taanakh bloc settlements?

  6. Lurker, do you think we can rely on Egged's opinion that Bulgaria is part of Eretz Yisrael?

  7. B"H

I thought it was Immanuel, too, but hard for me to tell from this angle.

  8. Giv'at Ze'ev maybe?

By the way Jameel, thank you for the Ramadan tip the other week. I've been following you for a while as the blog is great.

Anyway, I started an internship at the JPost earlier this summer - yes it was me who put your Ramadan story in the Jerusalem Post, and I apologise for not crediting you. I mistakenly believed that I was under no obligation to as I'd known about it for a day before my editor asked me to write a brief on the story. Sorry!

  9. Elan - you always quote the source if it's a blog.

    We need the traffic.

  10. Sogerol: Lurker, do you think we can rely on Egged's opinion that Bulgaria is part of Eretz Yisrael?

Who are we to question those who are wise and learned in such things?

  11. Is Elan the jpost writer that's been ripping off all of the Jewish blogs and not giving them credit?

It's really not cool that Jpost thinks it's ok to steal from bloggers.

  12. It's in the jpost!

With no credit to the origin.

  13. Thank you DoubleTapper.

And Anonymous: you are invited to take pot-shots without hiding behind a mask. I have nothing to hide; I commented here to let Jameel know that the Muqata was my source, and that I felt sorry for my inexperience resulting in the blog not getting its credit.

As far as the Jpost sourcing material from blogs is concerned, I honestly couldn't tell you... I'm only an intern and don't even bother reading the paper as we all know that it's not particularly well written. My stories are typically given to me by whichever editor happens to be in that day.

And I'm with Rafi... nu, where is it?

  14. Hi Elan -

Actually, I do appreciate the comment/note -- and thanks for letting me know!

As for where it is...we'll wait another few days as the fact checkers keep themselves busy.

    Regards!
