Head of IDF Military Intelligence, General Amos Yadlin reported to the Knesset Defense and Foreign Affairs Committee today that over the past few days, Hamas has successfully conducted launches of 60 kilometer range rockets.
The rocket is apparently of Iranian design, and its unclear if Hamas in Gaza has the capability to manufacture these on their own -- or they are just smuggling them in.
A 60 kilometer range rocket launched from Gaza, is capable of hitting Modiin, Beit Shemesh, Ben-Gurion airport and South Tel Aviv.

The Israeli Navy has placed an URGENT order for more German Warships. The article implied that there was some 'anticipated immediacy' to the request, and Germany is contemplating the request. It seems that there are two such vessels in the area and ready to return to Germany, and maybe the Israeli Navy has these in mind? (debka)
ReplyDeleteI was thinking that strategically, it might be wiser to 'defend' any L-R Missiles going into Israel proper by firing from a vessel off-shore to divert and draw the attack away from civilian areas? Does this sound like a feasible approach, Jameel?
Probably has to do with the new Iranian mini-subs. (Just the right size for transporting a nuclear weapon).
ReplyDeleteDon't worry. As Shimon Peres would say there's no need to worry because it's not the rockets that kill, it's the people who shoot them.
ReplyDeleteWhew, a lot of us in Yesha are out of range.

ReplyDeleteRiiiiiiight. The same Tel Aviv people who are right, will stay right, those that are left will not change their minds.
I asked a leftist friend of mine in 1995 when buses were blowing up every week, how many buses needed to blow up before admitting that Oslo was a failure.
His answer: There aren't enough buses in Israel for me to ever say that Oslo was a failure.
"There aren't enough buses in Israel"???
ReplyDeleteBut there are LIMITED # OF PEOPLE!!
Each bus could be 50 people!
Who said they would stop at buses!
