Often enough we see names signing up to the Muqata twitter that are clearly robots or spammers.
But this is a new one.
One of my throw-away email accounts (to catch spam) just got a request from twitter to sign up, as some robot spammer wants to follow me on it.
How long before twitter becomes overwhelmed with spammers sending junk, or before twitter has to add some overbearing security features to

I've noticed it, too. Actually, I haven't logged in to twitter for ages. I have an automatic thing set up so that my blog posts tweet. It hasn't increased blog traffic by much.
ReplyDeleteWith those spam accounts it's like the story/joke of people sending tape recorders to hear the sermon and the rabbi responding by sending a taped sermon.
Big article in Globes recently about the rise and fall of twitter in Israel.
ReplyDeleteUsage peaked in July, and from there the drop-off is steadily increasing. Apparently still being used by some celebs, wannabees, white-tel aviv bunch. Israelis have warmed up to facebook, and are not tolerant of the need on twitter to add on other [non-Hebrew] applications to enhance the experience.
One of the founders of twitt is in Israel this week.
