The Rabbis teach us that to save a life is to save an entire world. Well, here's proof.
Yitta Schwartz of Kiryas Yoel, New York passed away this week. She was 94 years old and a Holocaust survivor having spent time in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. Miraculously her family made it through intact and her husband and six children moved on to Amsterdam and then Williamsburg where she had another 11 children and 170 grand children, all of whose names she knew. She lived to see 5 generations and get this...2500 descendants.
She once joked while watching a group of children at play: "I love them all, because half of them are mine, and the other half will be mine some day."
