This is the NIF

This is the NIF (from Wikileaks):

(C) New Israel Fund (NIF) Associate Director in Israel Hedva Radovanitz, who manages grants to 350 NGOs totaling about 18 million dollars per year, told PolOff on February 23 that the campaign against the NGOs was due to the "disappearance of the political left wing" in Israel and the lack of domestic constituency for the NGOs. She noted that when she headed ACRI's Tel Aviv office, ACRI had 5,000 members, while today it has less than 800, and it was only able to muster about 5,000 people to its December human rights march by relying on the active staff of the 120 NGOs that participated.

Radovanitz commented that the NIF was working behind the scenes through many NGOs to prevent the NGO legislation from passing in its current form.

She commented that she believed that in 100 years Israel would be majority Arab and that the disappearance of a Jewish state would not be the tragedy that Israelis fear since it would become more democratic. She also said the NIF was currently re-evaluating its strategy and was hoping to create a movement rather than just a lot of NGOs.

She said the NIF had no plans to build a human rights constituency within the right wing of Israeli society, though she believed politics had shifted to the right for the foreseeable future.

Oh, and if you were wondering about B'tselem and where they have the time and money to attack the settlers so much...

(C) B'Tselem Director Jessica Montell, who estimated her 9 million NIS ($2.4 million) budget is 95 percent funded from abroad, mostly from European countries,

  1. Now you should expose exactly who the higher-ups at the NIF are & their other ties, for example, with the Democratic Party, which Jewish organizations, etc etc.

  6. Clarification for readers:

"PolOff" is an acronym for the US Embassy "Political Office".

(Evidently there is a great deal of information that the NIF and B'Tzelem are rigorously determined to keep hidden from the Israeli public, but which they are perfectly happy to disclose to the Obama Administration.)

Nobody is troubled by this "discovery" except you. Why do you care about Btselem? Unless you have something to hide...

  8. Let's see. Both organizations, by their own admission have almost zero local support in their own countries, both financially and in terms of membership.

Meanwhile both organization receive millions of dollars from foreign governments in order to report back to those foreign government what's going on inside Israel as well as to effect changes that the local population did not vote for

Some people might call that acting as a foreign agent, aka "spying".

  9. This hasn't been a state secret for years. Domestic anti-Israel NGOs receive virtually all of their funding from hostile countries and this is reflected in their agenda. He who pays the piper, calls the tune. And their English language websites receive far more Internet traffic than their Hebrew language pages do.

    Follow the money.

  11. When I was living in Nachlaot in the 90's, I never understood how my neighbor, Izhar Beer, then Director of B'tselem could afford the lifestyle he led. He had just completely renovated a large property, purchased a brand new Land Rover SUV and BMW R1100 and take frequent trips to Europe. Now I know.
