It sounds more like a poor investment, assuming people buy wanting to win. For true giving, one can bypass the overhead costs the advertising generates.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13539920.post-27598387051312308642007-12-17T10:23:00.000+02:002007-12-17T10:23:00.000+02:00I usually ignore the lottery. Studies have shown that the people who buy the most lottery tickets are the people least able to afford them. 90% of the people who enter the Charedi lottery will NOT win a ticket. Which is fine if they only spent their ma'aser money on it. But if people go beyond their ma'aser money, then they're facing 90% liklihood of losing their "investment."<BR/><BR/>There is a reason a lot of people call lotteries a "stupid tax."Fern @ Life on the Balconyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00723669902505470885noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13539920.post-56305504163231506382007-12-16T19:41:00.000+02:002007-12-16T19:41:00.000+02:00http://www.family.org/socialissues/A000000620.cfmhttp://www.family.org/socialissues/A000000620.cfmAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
