Some overly-righteous students complained that the long lines that ensued were a "waste of Torah learning time" (Bittul Torah) and wanted to avoid the inspectors and disregard them altogether.
Rabbi Nosson Tzvi Finkel, the Mir's "Rosh Yeshiva" who is currently abroad fund raising for the yeshiva, issued the following unequivocal statement:
"[The State of Israel's] Ministry of Education and Religion are the greatest donors to the Yeshiva. I hereby require everyone to forgo their first learning class in the morning, and participate in the inspection."
Some were incredulous when they heard that a young father requested that he miss the inspection because his son was in the middle of an operation in the hospital. He was informed: "You have no exemption from the inspection. As soon as your son's operation is over, report immediately to the yeshiva for inspection."
I hope the Rosh Yeshiva's message was heard and understood loud and clear by all the students.

I remember when I was in the Yeshiva a number of years ago, they came for inspection and the Rosh Hayishiva (who is not well) walked through every Beit Midrash and told everyone to stop learning and go to the office.

He was sick at home.
So was his friend
We live in a settlement and his friend lives in a settlement even further away than we do.
they told them both, that there is an inspection today, you must come to the yeshiva (i.e. hitch hike)for the inspection (even though you are sick).
Having a sick certificate from a doctor is not use, they will not accept it!
This does not seem reasonable to me.
