Rightwing Activists March in Jaffa.
Policeman lightly wounded by rock
Policeman lightly wounded by rock
G-d forbid YNET would indicate in the headline that the violence (and the wounded policeman) had nothing to do with the right wingers.
(And for the record, no Leftists or Arabs were shot by the police)

Wherever I am, my blog turns towards Eretz Yisrael טובה הארץ מאד מאד
Wow, that is pathetic.
ReplyDeleteunreal. though not surprising
ReplyDeleteNot surprising.
ReplyDeleteThe Israeli media is in the grip of the Left, too.
Character assassination is one of the ways they blame the Right for things they haven't even done.
And they get away with stuff like this every day in Israel.
I'm sure this is unintentional, but FYI, your tack of right versus left in so many of your posts is very offputting to people of no particular political alliance who live outside the country and who read your blog.
ReplyDeleteIt makes Israel look very hostile to, well, to itself.
Just my 2 cents.

Larry: Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately, the issues happen to be very black and white in the past few days, no matter how gray it would be nice for them to be.
ReplyDeleteAll I did in this particular instance was translate the article from Israel's most popular online website.
I could just ignore it. But then YNET simply continue spreading its venom, unchallenged.
I think its important for people to know that the major media sites in Israel are doing all they can to discredit those who want to settle the land...and will stop at nothing to achieve their goals, including misleading headlines like the one posted above.
Additionally, "Israel looking hostile to itself"...unfortunately, this is also true at times. The police brutally attacked those who protested the razing of homes. The minister of internal security lies to everyone that the police were violently threatened.
Here's a photo I just got, which clearly shows a policeman SHOOTING at a photographer at the Gilad Farm. He wasn't throwing rocks...he was trying to photograph the police brutality. (link here)
It wasn't only Ynet. Every news site had a headline "Right-wing protest, cops injured".

ReplyDeleteUm... there's a reason it looks that way, you know...
