Sderot to Launch Homemade Rockets

(Cross-posted at JoeSettler)

Finally!

I've espoused this position for a long time. Finally the residents of Israel and Sderot are shaking off their government induced aparthy, lethargy, and indifference.

First of all they are expanding their protests - and I doubt they will stop it, no matter how many of their protesters the police arrest this time.

But more importantly, they are talking about building and shooting their own rockets back at Gaza. If the High Court won't let the IDF take effective actions, and the government relies on the High Court to tie their hands to avoid taking the needed actions (one of their excuses at least), then they choose to take their defense and offense into their own hands.

Here is the Facebook URL for you to join to show support.

(Someone just needs to provide them with better instructions.)

Wow.

Do you think that they will actually do this? Not that I would blame them.

Just checked out the links. "It can't be so difficult. If those retards in Gaza can do it, so can you". LOL

Joined the group, of course. Perhaps this will force the government to actually do something to help Sderot?

If they actually do this, I sincerely hope that they set up a base outside of town for the manufacture and firing of these rockets. One of the chief crimes of the Palestinians is basing their paramilitary operations in civilian population centers, thus forcing Israel to choose between turning a blind eye and causing significant collateral damage.

Now, I know that Sderot is already being targeted by the Palestinians, but do they really need to make their kids and houses into legitimate targets? What's next, sending suicide bombers into Gaza to teach them a lesson? There are lines that people must not cross, and conducting military operations from behind your own civilian lines is one of them.

I hope that this ends up being mere posturing by Sderot, and that it succeeds in getting the government and the world to do something decisive and legitimate.

It is going to get worse before it gets better.

I think they should stick to using high powered model rockets, with messages reading in Arabic, "Hello. We found pieces of rockets that may belong to you. Please send back your address so we may know where to return them. Thank you." Include phone numbers various for Mossad, IDF HQ, the PM, various American politicians' official offices, etc. See what happens.
