Tel Aviv Nightclub Targets IDF Soldiers

The popular "Rogatka" (slingshot) nightclub in Tel Aviv is refusing entry to IDF soldiers in uniform.
IDF Uniforms are associated with oppression and genocide, and the IDF's violence is the reason for all violence in Israel, explained the club's workers.

The ground rules of the club are clear: Naturalism, Pluralism, and no IDF uniforms -- anyone can visit the club on Yitzchak Sadeh street in Tel-Aviv, with any clothing style, except for IDF uniforms.

Two IDF combat soldiers who visited the club last week were forbidden entry. They were told they could switch to civilian clothes and come in, but it was forbidden to wear uniforms inside.

"It's nothing personal, but ideological. Your uniforms symbolize genocide and violence." they were told by club employees and guests.

One of the soldiers took off his IDF issued shirt, but his Unit's t-shirt didn't pass muster either...and they were told to leave.

IDF radio sent a solider from an elite unit to validate the claims. As soon as he sat down at the bar, employees came over to him and demanded that he leave.

"Your shirt symbolizes sh&^ and disgust," he was told, "and as soon as I see your shirt, it hurts me. So before I hurt you, I'm asking you to leave."

The elite combat solider replied, "I kill myself to protect you and you're throwing me out?"

Their response: "They pay you half of what you deserve. You aren't killing yourself. They are taking advantage of you, and you're a slave to the army...now leave." (source, translated from IDF radio via rotter)
I feel bad for the people in Tel Aviv that have to put with up with this leftist garbage on a daily basis...and even worse for the IDF soldiers who wanted to visit the nightclub.

The faster the nightclub owners leave Israel, the better for everyone. Go somewhere peaceful, like Gaza.

Interesting. The club is called Rogatka. That is the name given to the slingshots that the Palestinian terrorists use to throw rocks at Israelis. the name became popularized during the 1st intifada in the late 80s.

As to the club not wanting IDF soldiers - I wonder how they'd feel if they were targeted, G-d forbid, by Palestinian terrorists, just like what happened to dozens of clubs during the last terrorist war a few short years ago. Would they object to IDF soldiers going out to catch those terrorists?

They are simply beneath contempt.

Rogatka also means slingshot in Russian.

Annie - you're right. But it seems that if the Palestinians did hit the bar - they would blame Israel. These people are nothing more than the equal to Nazi collaborators - and if this establishment is not boycotted and shut down it will lessen the credibility of the Israeli government. This is truly disgusting, and I believe a good look into this clubs "books" is in order.

Annie: This story honestly made me ill this morning when I heard it on the radio.

Anonymous: I think I good demonstration outside this club would be in order. Or have people go in, and then put on IDF tshirts.

The most disgusting comment was from one of the bouncers who told the IDF soldier:

Bouncer: "Get OUT"

Soldier: "Because of my shirt?"

Bouncer: Haven't you ever heard of "chok dromi?"

Note: Chok Dromi -- the "Dromi" law allows people to shoot intruders in their homes...implying/threatening that the bouncer was going to shoot the soldier.

How impressive that a Tel Aviv "Tzfoni" uses "chok dromi" to enforce their anti-zionist politics.

Simply horrendous.

Needless to say then, Hamas terrorist fatigues would be just hunky-dory. (Given the name of the place, I imagine they'd even regard it as "cool".)

Here's a thought experiment: What sort of media attention do you think would ensue if a haredi-run institution open to the public denied entrance to people in IDF uniform?

Good question. Should they in fact be subjected to such an attack, I suppose the oppresive, genocidal IDF soldiers in the vicinity will simply have to respect the club's rules, and refrain from entering the premises to offer any assistance...

Btw, according to the information given here, this institution also boycotts all products coming from "settlements".

I hope these people get exactly what they deserve...

"Rogatka" is the Russian term, and it looks like the owner and staffs are Russian. Why did they come to this country? They do not like Jewish people. For one reason only: to get out from Russia. Russian Government freely gives in up the Israel Immigration Visa, including crime people too. Why does Israel Government not check their entry documents correctly? We need to correct a lot of mistakes made in the past, and revoke the citizenship from all people that are not Jews. Israel is maybe the smallest country in the World, and every Nation wants to have a piece from its land. NO WAY!!!

I am utterly disgusted. And I don't understand why the soldier tried to placate them by taking off his shirt instead of telling them what they could do with their *($#& club and walking out.

What RR said.

RR and MAOZ: Maybe the soldier knew his t-shirt would offend them even more?

(maybe it had a bunch of soldiers shooting at a poisonous snake or something...)

Maybe the issue is that the IDF do not really have dress uniforms. Maybe if soldiers put on some snazzy blazers like the Marines, or wear all white like the navy, the bar would cave in. It's good for business cuz it drives the women crazy.

Anyway, what's the point of going there? Full of Tali Pachima's friends. Yuk.

can someone confirm that this is a Russian establishment?

I think we need to make a point: how about a caravan of folks with IDF shirts--we go down, we all take tables, we put on our shirts---and when they order us to leave, we tell them to piss off. I'm a veteran of demonstrations--go ahead and hit me: I'll own your nightclub. This is a free country and I'll wear what I want to wear anywhere I want to wear it.

This makes me so mad and ill. What I would like to do is go and shoot up the place. But as a law abiding citizen I suggest that the Army sue the lefty-vegetarian owners and put the bastards out of business.

Sometimes it's hard to open one's own eyes and see that people just doesn't want military and nationalists in their bar...

IDF people can go with their uniforms in their own bars and should just accept that they are welcomed as private guests, but not as soldiers.

Yeah, too bad there are no suicide bombers around to put the bar out of its misery.

Oh. No suicide bombers around? That's because of the IDF keeping them safe.
