New Israel Fund supports Anti-Israel Apartheid Week

NGO Monitor has the dirt on the New Israel Fund:
Adalah: On Tuesday, March 9, a representative of the NIF- and EU-funded Adalah is scheduled to speak at Al Quds University in Abu Dis “on Apartheid as it is experienced by Palestinian citizens of Israel” (i.e. Israeli-Arabs). Adalah published a 2007 “Democratic Constitution” calling for the abolishment of Israel’s Jewish character. Based on the concept of “a one-state solution,” the document would permit Jewish immigration for “humanitarian reasons” only. Adalah officials, in conjunction with radical Palestinian NGO Al-Haq, also wrote and edited large portions of a May 2009 300-page publication, initiated by anti-Israel ideologue John Dugard, entitled “Occupation, Colonialism, Apartheid?: A re-assessment of Israel´s practices in the occupied Palestinian territories under international law.” The document refers to Israeli occupation as a “colonial enterprise which implements a system of apartheid.”
And a big round of applause for Dr. Naomi Chazan and the New Israel Fund for funding such a wonderful, anti-Zionist organization.

The doofuses who organized the so-called "Israel-Aparhteid Week" seemed to have dropped their squalid little program right at the beginning of Buycott Israel Month (see www.buycottmonth.com). But what do you expect from bunch of clowns who can't even get be truthful about the word "Week"?

This is an offensive, disgusting post, and we demand that it be taken down immediately.

The New Israel Fund sponsors many pro-Israel organizations and activities. The fact that some of them might not happen to fit your personal extremist definition of "pro-Israel" is nobody's problem but your own.

Who ever gave you a monopoly on deciding what's "pro-Israel" and what's not "pro-Israel"? Yes, the NIF supports organizations that feel that, in their opinion, it's entirely "pro-Israel" to hold demonstrations against Israel, to denounce Israel as a genocidal perpetrator of war crimes, and to label Israel as a criminal Apartheid state. So what? Just who do you think you are to delegitmize that particular definition of "pro-Israel"? If those organizations choose to call themselves "pro-Israel" (well, actually they don't, but still), then you have no right to say that they aren't.

The damage you are causing the NIF is horrible and unforgivable. When we solicit money from dumb, rich American Jews, we simply tell them that we support organizations that help Israel. And that's all they need to hear. We don't need troublemakers like NGO Monitor, Im Tirtzu, and the Muqata to be providing them with unneccessary details, like the ones found in this post. To expose our wealthy donors to this kind of information about what our daughter groups -- like Adalah -- are actually doing, is nothing less than a "witch hunt" and "McCarthyism", and we demand that you shut up immediately.

This above comment (which is incredibly rude) is not by any official representative of the New Israel Fund.

As for this rumor about Adalah, they did not participate in this conference at all, despite an invitation to do so. The director of the organization clarified that they did not accept and did not attend in even a private capacity.

Many thanks.
