Seminary Girls help Jerusalem Firefighters

This past Monday (October 3rd) young women from the Shaalvim Women's Seminary visited Jerusalem's central fire-department to volunteer for a few hours to help out at the fire-station.

The group of 75 volunteers come from the USA, Canada and England and are studying at Shaalvim. Within the framework of their studies, the women also volunteer for all sorts of chessed/charity work.

Shouldn't the nature of their volunteering be mentioned?

Or is only cutesy posing in gear worthy of display?

Really, what is the point of this post?

wrong, Avinoam.

Any work they do is fine and blessed.

What would be even better is if their teachers cared about them enough to teach them how to PREVENT house fires.

How many religious people sleep with a fire extinguisher beside their bed?

And believe me (a Merchant Marine Engineering Officer who has been through one fire on a petroleum tanker-ship and one on a ammunition ship), that is the difference between life or death.

God helps those who help themselves.

The Sabra: They were probably helping clean the station, roll up fire hoses, etc.

anonymous: I have a fire extinguisher in my bedroom and also in my car under the driver's seat.

Avinoam: Point of the post: Seminary girls are seeing Israel all over; even going to fire stations and helping them clean them up. Every little bit counts, and makes their Israel experience for more real.
