JBlogosphere Salutes the Israel Day Parade!

Check out the JBlogosphere's Float -- so many bloggers were there...

(Apologies if your blog/commenter name didn't make it in this year's float. You know how these parades work...)

If you do see your name/blog here, drop a comment :-)

Wherever I am, my blog turns towards Eretz Yisrael טובה הארץ מאד מאד

Whoay, whoay, whoay (how DO you translate/transliterate that Hebrew interjection?). I'm honored to have made it to the first line. Who knew you were so tight with the sochnut? :D

SuperRaizy said...

It was an honor to ride on the JBlogosphere float!
My kids are marching there right now with their schools.
(Umm, Jameel- I think you posted this picture before the parade even started...)

Rafi G said...

wow. Even I finally made it onto a list!

Gila said...

I'm at the parade! Wow--have not been to one of those in years. :)

very cute. havent marched in the israel day parade for yrs (although til this day when i hear the song noladeti lashalom i automaticaly start waving my hands in the motions we were taught about 25 yrs ago. and recently someone showed me a picture of myself dancing with a rake in my hand - and that i dont even really remember!)
but today i was marching (ok actualy schlepping) in ariel (saw your daughter). imagine if all the jews from the parade in new york would make aliya and come to the 'parade' in ariel.
anyway this is my first time on a blog float. thanks!
happy yom yerushalim

Commenter Abbi: The sochnut has even more money to hand out than Talansky...

SuperRaizy: This was in the warm up phase before the parade started to get moving...You saw it, right? :-)

Rafi: Patience is key!

Gila: See? the Jblogosphere is good for something!

Faith: thanks. (my daughter just came home from Ariel...she was rather excited). See? Its not hard to get itno the "clique" of the JBlogosphere...you just have to show up. (And aren't you impressed there are no mention of waffles on the float?)

Awesome.

umm, is this an artists depiction, because it's a photoshop, no?

Baila said...

Thanks for including me, at least I think that's me, third from the left, fifth row.

My friend who I always went to the parade with called me from there and when I told her I missed it, she said, "but you're living the parade".

Is that first comment your wife? She knows how to get your attention. . .
This is one of your more bizarre posts, and that's saying a lot.

Erachet said...

YOU SPELLED MY NAME WRONG!

But otherwise, I'm honored! :D

SJ said...

My first time ever at the Israel Day Parade--at least, it's the closest I've ever come. Cool!

fabulous :)

TikunOlam said...

I am hoping that TikunOlam was me and not the one who actually spells it with two Ks. But no matter, either way - I was there in person - thinking of all of you in Israel.

Robert J. Avrech said...

I hate crowds; glad our name could bear the heavy traffic.

Jameel @ The Muqata said...

Robert: The Yom Yerushalayim "Rikudaglanim" (dance of the flags) is crowded here, but I guess it's worth it!

TikunOlam: Sorry for the double K. The banner printer messed up on the "copy/paste" from the text file I sent.

Sarah: The tidle thing in front of your name earned you first place on the list (it comes before "a" in the alphabetized list)

Steg: If only it were real? What isnt real about the picture?

SJ: There's something ELSE to do on a Sunday if not going to the parade?

Erachet: I spelled your name RIGHT! Those pathetic printers havent figured out how to copy/paste. Sheesh. We'll get a better printer next year (but the parade will be in Israel anyway, since everyone will have moved here by then)

MoI: Sure does look like my wife! (And yes, I need to visit the bank...why am I blogging when I could be at the bank?) Unless of course, I blog my visit to the bank...

Chaim: You think I would make it to the parade in NYC and not call?

SephardiLady: The parade is a great Orthonomically sound way to spend a Sunday!

Way cool, Jameel!!

Ye'he Sh'mey Raba Mevorach said...

hey! Is that really me with my real name on that float!?!?!?

Amazingly cool no matter what. Thanks for posting.

DTC said...

Did this float go before or after our NK brothers blocked the street (and interrupted the parade) for 2 hours?

mevaseretzion said...

WoW Awesome!

MoChassid said...

woo hoo.

NK disrupted the parade?? Usually they just stand there surrounded by cops. They blocked the street for two hours?!

Leora said...

Oh! I just found my name. Thank you. I'm between Balashon and TriLcat: nice company.

I actually was at the parade yesterday. Marching with the scouts:
http://www.leoraw.com/blog/2008/06/01/scouts-march-for-israel/
I heard protesters blocked the parade for a bit. My friend's son didn't get home until 8:30 pm.

Awesome job! I love it.

Who's the blogger S?

btw word verification - algtr (alligator)

badforshidduchim said...

So I was there after all...
Great!

Lady-Light said...

Wow, that was close. I saw Tikkun Olam and thought, yippee, I'm there! And then I read tikunolam's comment, ופני נפלו . But I continued scanning further down and THERE I WAS--next to last line on the left!
עכשו, אני מאושרת!
Thank you so much! I wish I had been there in the flesh, just as I wish I had been in Jerusalem for יום ירושלים .
Kol tuv!
(...and I'm also happy that tikunolam is there, too.)

ProfK said...

Irony to actually be at the parade and not notice my name but to come home and be told to check out the picture on your site. Talk about Warhol's 15 minutes of fame.

Lady-Light said...

Oh, and to commenter abbi - do you mean the Israeli expression, וואי, וואי, וואי ? I think it transliterates to "why, why, why!(or do you mean, "ooh-ah?!)

Jameel @ The Muqata said...

Lady Light: glad you could be there on the float :)

ProfK: We'll try to make the float bigger next year to make it easier to spot your name...

The Apple: Cool verification. Blogger "S" is from "On the main Line" (also known as Mississippi Fred McDowel) -- one of the most respected blogs on the jblogosphere!

YSRM: Yup...dat be you.

Bad4Shidduchim. I hope it's not "bad 4 shidduchim" to be seen on a float at the Israel day parade...

MoC: Nice to see you there :)

Leora: We try to keep everyone happy...

Jack said...

Woohoo, that was some parade.

RivkA with a capital A said...

YAY!!

That's the closest I've come to seeing my name in lights....

Awesome!

Tyrone said...

Hey, Jameel (if that's actually your real name): Just who the hell do you think you are, you settler/war criminal, putting my name on a pro-Zionist float without my permission? You're trying to ruin my reputation. I'm thinking of suing you...

Jacob Da Jew said...

Da Jew was def. on the move!

Tyrone Sucks Waffles said...

Tyrone,

You are an insult to real men named Tyrone. We have been insulted by people far smarter and funnier than you

In the Jblogosphere, even a person living "On the Fringe" can make the big time! Yofi!

ilanadavita said...

This is amazing. I'm glad I was there by proxy.

tafka PP said...

Now I come to think of it, that's the first Pro-Israel march I've "been" on since becoming Israeli!

DTC said...

According to various (unpublished and unnoticed by the media), parts of the parade were delayed up to 2 hours due to the NK/others anti parade protestors who decided to lay down in the street.
Some schools had to wait over 2 hours to march as a result.

yaak said...

Wow!
Thanks for including me!

yitz said...

Jameel,
You'll do ANYTING for a comment, wontcha? :))

Lady-Light said...

Please forgive my ignorance: what does "NK" stand for--Neturei Karta?

tnspr569 said...

Nice job! Thanks! Almost makes up for the fact that I wasn't there in person...

SJ said...

Jameel, being a very-far-out-of-towner, I've never been in the NY area on the day of the parade. In fact, I hadn't even heard of the parade until I came to NY for college. Amazing, I know. :)
