Another Reminder Why We Need Gush Katif Lettuce

Yet another reason to buy Bug-Free and Frog-Free Lettuce.

Anyone know if this particular brand comes from France?

Wherever I am, my blog turns towards Eretz Yisrael

laughing so much...

so much for clean and checked lettuce in bags.
they say to check for bugs... not for actual wildlife!

Maybe the promotion for that company should be:
"Buy our fresh lettuce - get free pet for the kids!."

It's for Pesach. It's the 10-Makot-and-Marror-in-a-bag package. Haven't you heard of it?

i want a frog in my lettuce!

Yaak and Steg: Sounds like it should be eaten as a "siman" on Rosh HaShana: "May Our Enemies Croak..."

Sarah: Pets for kids? It's dessert!!!

Marallyn; If we can't laugh at lettuce, then what's the point of living?

The Snopes jury is still out on this one--they're not sure if it's real or fake.

Anyway, at least you can SEE the frog; the people who got the E coli infested spinach weren't so lucky. :(

Scraps: Do you happen to know if frogs like this come out of the water faucets too?

I take it that "WTF" stands for "Where's The Froggy?"

I think that photo is doctored. If there was a frog in a sealed bag like that it would die from lack of oxygen pretty quickly. The frog would start decomposing and look gross. That frog looks like it's just waiting for someone to open the bag so it can hop out and go on its merry way.

Several Katif farmers moved their hothouses, etc. to other sites either near Nitzan or Ashkelon or other north-west Negev moshavim.

Obviously. And I know the culprit. But due to not wanted to talk Loshon Hara after Yom Kippur, I won't mention who he is. Lets just say his name starts with a " Ja", and ends with an "eel"

dessert?!

fine, ok... but only with chocolate sauce.

Actually the frog is the protein in the meal.

Steg (dos iz nit der šteg) said...

actually some of these produce bags are "breathable", so there could very well be airflow for the frog.

"WTF" means of course What the Froggy?!. Said frog is just getting a head start on Pesach.
(I really thought that was a 'doctored' photo, but now I'm not so sure...)

Snopes says it's a Spanish brand.

Speaking of katif produce - I had to choose between lettuce from katif and lettuce from netzer hazani (I think it was lettuce - or celery). One package had an address outside of Aza, but the other actually still said Moshav Katif! I liked that.

Profanity on Jameel's blog? Seriously? *stares in amazement*

But that frog is funny. :)

Actually, the frog shouldnt suffocate. They really don't need that much air, and if the leaves are still green, they should convert the c02 into 02.
