Israeli Trivial Pursuit Question #23

Who could forget playing Trivial Pursuit in the 1980's on Friday nights or Shabbat afternoon? I loved the science questions and hated the sports ones. (AirTime & Ezzie probably loved the sports questions).

Here's today's question for Israeli Trivial Pursuit:

Which of the following subjects does NOT include joint Arab and Israeli Settler Cooperation?

1. Protesting the Gay Parade to be held in Israel
2. Protesting the Security Fence
3. Fighting the war on car accidents
4. Joint Sewage lines
Answer will be in a follow-up posting...
Suggestions for new questions welcomed by email...valuable prizes for correct answers and good questions...? (that's a question, not a statement :)

Wherever I am, my blog turns towards Eretz Yisrael

Number 3. And I really HATED that game - I hardly knew any of the answers!

WestBankMama: But you probably used to play it all the time (or risk, perhaps?)

There were no multiple choice questions in Trivial Pursuit.

i hated the sports AND the science questions. actually, like WBM I "hardly knew any of the answers!" Unless of course we are talking about the Jr. edition (but even then i still could not answer sports and science).

Rock of Galilee:

Sure there were. They were usually percentage questions: "What percent of XXX is YYY: 5%, 15%, or 50%."

for thst matter, how about a jameel jr. israeli edition for us intellectually challenged.

3.
I never really played much trivial pursuit. I was no good. I was a master at Stratego and at Risk though.

I have a feeling that this is a trick question- they ALL involve such cooperation... and you are going to tell us about them all in your upcoming post...

(But if pushed I'd also say 3)

TP was always bizarre for us as kids as it seemed to be talking about a different planet- but in recent years I've gotten revenge by playing the UK version with Americans. (They can now relate to how we felt answering Baseball, constitution and McCarthy questions for years.)

Risk and Monopoly were favorites in my family. My dad and uncles used to have very serious Risk tournaments.

Am I the only dork who loved the geography and history questions?

I only learned to play Risk a few years ago. That game is FUN, addictive, and takes forever.

Cooperation?!?!

They may coincide or overlap regarding certain points on all of the above, but cooperation??!!!

Ergo the correct answer is 'none of them'.

I was - and am - a Stratego master. Risk, eh. Never was a fan of trivial pursuit, but I did enjoy the Sports Q's... :)

I'm picking 3.

Risk? Trivial pursuit? Monopoly?

Didn't you guys have boxing gloves and younger brothers?

We used to sneek down the basement and work out, box and wrestle.

Maybe we're from different neighborhoods?

Clearly #3: Fighting the war on car accidents

As bad as Israeli drivers are, Arab drivers in Yesh(a) are far, far worse and much more dangerous.

In Yesh(a) you can always pick out the Arab drivers. They are the ones passing you on the right from off the side of the road (alternatively over the island), tailing you even closer than the Israelis (as if you thought that was possible), generally weaving left and right looking where they can pass dangerously, and most spectacularly making u-turns across the highway through the solid line (as traffic approaches) - which I believe is how they cause the most accidents.

There are more examples, but these are the (dead) giveaways.

joe: "As bad as Israeli drivers are"

i think you've posted on this. i find it much easier driving in israel than in america. i mean have you ever driven in brooklyn? now israeli roads on the other hand, these really are bad . . .

I don't think I ever got any questions right until Young Players Edition came out. And even then I was pretty bad. I recently bought the '90s Time Capsule edition (because my husband is obsessed with the 90s..says it was his decade...H.S. and College). I can answer some question, but the questions really are insanely trivial.

Traffic Accident

As you can see from the article, this guy killed a mother and daughter by running into their car while they were stopped at a red light.

I have been hit from behind 4 times while sitting at a red light or as the last car in a traffic jam. I've had whiplash twice, and my car (obviously) smashed up.

Israelis do not look at the road while they are driving. If they are looking, they look at the tail of the car in front of them. If they've hit the tail, they are too close and consider slowing down.

Last month I was in a traffic jam in the city and the guy behind me decided I wasn't being fast/aggressive enough for him on the road - so he drove into my car to nudge me forward!!!

He then screamed at me, when I got out of my car to scream at him that I'm not going fast enough (into the cars in front of me). He had no shame for what he did and said he did it on purpose!!!!!!!!!!!!!
