Among the challenging aspects of Aliya is finding a job here in Israel.
Well, if you live in the NY area -- now's your opportunity.
I got a call from a company here in Israel, looking for a computer programmer who will work in the US for the upcoming year and then, move to Israel to continue working on the same project, but in Israel, permanently.
The company's outlook is simply Zionist; they could send an Israeli to the US for the year, but they would rather help a family move here.
So, if you're a computer programmer with a serious background in C/C++, and a few years experience -- stop making excuses.

I don't think this applies anymore! Comments anyone?
What about other fields like accounting or teaching. ;)
Neshama: What do you mean that it doesn't apply anymore?
The is a valid job offer!
Robert: Give me time -- I've only started my official job placement program ;-)
People! I'm disappointed that NO ONE has contacted me yet about this.
You didn't offer to make them waffles. Sweeten the pot. ;)
Things like this make me regret never putting any real effort into properly learning C++
Maybe that's what I'll do on my upcoming vacation instead of spending all day on the beach doing nothing...
(I guess I can keep making excuses for now...)
Wow. I wish I'd had a job offer like that back when I was making aliya.

It's never too late to start learning C++. Just look at R. Akiva.
"It's never too late to start learning C++. Just look at R. Akiva."
I already started, I just never finished :)
but you're right, it's definitely not too late...
If I think of someone in the states, I'll definitely let you know.
Check your email. I know my husband is interested!
Hey, listen here, you wiseguy. Stop picking on Teaneck. We are ZIONISTS here! You got that? ZIONISTS. We support Israel. We believe in their right to exist and not take direction from the U.S. and certainly not their neighbors. Isn't that Zionist enough for you?
Also, we love it when we see Israelis compete in the Olympics and the U.S. Open. We root for them over our own countrymen.
We do not actually have to make Aliyah to prove our love for the Holy Land. We profess it annually at the Salute to Israel Day Parade, which we attend religiously - even if it's raining!

Lol at CJ getting his panty's in a bunch over a humorous picture.
enuf w/that stupid teaneck sign already...it is played out...perhaps post this job offer on TeaneckShuls. That wud be a more positive thing to do :)
I didn't know Rabbi Akiva learned C++
I guess even in those days there wasn't enough money in teaching.
Ruthie, do you have another sign to replace the Teaneck sign?
Hello friends!
I support all the friends who make Aliyah, but I think that we still need the jewish people around the world. What do you think?

Sorry, Jameel, don't know how my comment meant for another blog ended up on yours. Please accept my apology -
On second reading, it seems this company has great faith in the Muqata, and Jameel's consistent support of Aliyah. They must feel certain that their call will turn up a worthy candidate.
Hatzlacha to anyone who takes the offer!!
