With the advent of the upcoming new and improved Muqata blog format, I've been experimenting with all sorts of gadgets on my blog -- and the Eretz Yisrael Clock in my sidebar.
One Astute Reader emailed me the following in response to my trivia question:
Dear Jameel,
"This clock not under Zionist Influence" -- Today's Trivia: Do you know where that's from?
This is from the clock in the Shuk in Meah Shearim. Which clock, I note, has never, in my recollection, actually worked. My recollections of that clock go back about 25 years.
OTOH, that anti_Zionist clock is correct twice a day...
Thanks,
Saturn
Well, well -- someone actually reads my sidebar!

Saturn, you win the prize -- and I'll have to think of something commemerative for you (like the Muqata.blogspot.com bumper sticker).
I googled the internet to find this picture, but couldn't find it anywhere.
If anyone out there has a picture of the clock in mea shearim, I'd love to post it.
I'm off today -- on a white water rafting tiyul up in Israel's north. It's a work-related thing...really!
You know...department group-building...I'm sure everyone does something like that...right?)
But...if you want to read something interesting, here's Irina's blog posting about her trip to Israel, "The Preamble to the rest of my life".
It reminded me of the song "Jerusalem is mine"

Catch you later!
Jameel.
Wherever I am, my blog turns towards Eretz Yisrael

The clock is a great addition to the blog. Is there a story behind the slogal on the Meah Shearim clock or is it just an anti-state statement?
Nice blogroll:)
How come it's not in 24 hour time? :-P
It's rude not to invite spouses to those "gibush" (group-building) activities. At my husband's company they often have music and dancing at these functions.
Nice style, cool clock.
Hey share some ideas for your blog... I am looking to fiz mine up as well... its needs a facelift, lol.
Thanks for the link! Hope to hear more about the trip - it sounds exciting!
