Snow in Jerusalem! (it was fun while it lasted)

Ah...the days of Mashiach are almost upon us.

The XGH is posting pictures of "Dreaming of a White Bayit veGan" while he's here.

Video's of the snow are popping up everywhere.

I barely made it out of the city...(but it really wasn't my fault, I was in a meeting...)

Update: Yesha Shelanu (via rotter.net) pix of Snow pix from Hevron, Me'arat HaMachpela

Wherever I am, my blog turns towards Eretz Yisrael

Did you see the pic.s I put up? We built a snow man, made snow angels, and had snow-ball fights. Thank g-d this only happens once every few years!

I went home in the snow yesterday. I left at 3, just as the stuff started to come down. By the time I was leaving Jerusalem at about 3:40 it was falling in huge, beautiful flakes. My kids were so disappointed that I couldn't bring any with me on the bus! But it was sure nice to stand around in it (though Israeli snow is much wetter then what I remember from the old country). Too bad I don't have a camera in my phone!

I can't believe that it snowed in Israel and it's been like 65 degrees here in NY since the winter started.

Ditto on sara's comment...no snow here! Just goes to show that we should really all be where you are...

i've never actually seen snow up close in israel. it snowed a few days before our visit 3 years ago, but it was all melted by the time we arrived. and i've been to the golan, but only during the summer. when i was in yeshivah for the year there was a big snowstorm, but we did not get any on the coast (in ein tzurim). but i remember it was wierd to see the snow-capped hills of jerusalem in the distance.

i actually have a cool old photograph of a camel caravan en route to jerusalem and passing over snow covered hills

What cool pictures. I just can't imagine snow in Jerusalem, especially with everyone trying to walk around on the very slippery Jerusalem stone. Enjoy it. As several people have said, we are experiencing unusual high temps but who's complaining, I myself, love it!

I considered myself as the professional in this theme, and did not think that I can find in the Internet something new. But having come on your site, I have understood, that I know nothing and it is necessary for me to study and study as much as possible.
