Explanation for those who don't get it:
Inner kippa design -- זה בשבילי "This is for me"
Outer design (making kipa bigger) -- וזה בשביל הרב "This is for [my] Rav...

You also crochet?!
lol!! I just saw that kippa yesterday!
Is it significant that 'mine' is orange and 'the rabbi's' is black?
Ironi: No, there's zero connection between the colors. My son (who's a relatively "orange" kind of person...) wants it in red and black - only 'cause he likes those colors.
Tafka pp: LOL! No, can't crochet...there are many other things I should be doing before even thinking about crocheting.
Mike: yes, all 3.
that's an awesome kippa. Maybe I'll see it in jlem this weekend.
what mike said!
(and reminds me that i haven't crocheted a kippa in about 5 years!)
Mike Miller-great description of this new trend.
Jameel-Well they still want to wear a kippah, albeit a small one, that's something….
Isn’t it?
My brother wants one too.
They're so cute when they're trying to pretend they're not as frum as they are.
My rebbi complained about 'the half-dollar size 'kipot.
Mike said it best. *sigh*
A first I wanted to know who HERB was? and why he needed part of a kippah.
but then I relized - all this is, is a variation of a timly old question: Does size really matter??
Interesting to note that here in the US, as far back as in the 70's, knitted yarmulkas were forbidden in some of the more RW yeshivos (like mine). One of the primary reasons quoted was because of the size, or lack thereof. As I recall, the "In Thing" in those days were what we called "Pepsi Cola Yarmulkas" because they were only a fraction larger than a Pepsi Cola bottle cap.
I've seen some "interesting" small yarmulkas that aren't shaped like circles... i think it was a triangle, and a square... maybe a magein david shaped one would be cool :-)
I agree with Mike, but then again, maybe "mitoch shelo lishma, ba lishma"
I like
I think I should ask Mike to guest post since his comments are so popular :)
(you hear that mike?!)
LOL. I want one too, and I am female.

Maybe I should get my old hook out of the closet... make a few bucks on the side...
Yep another one in agreement with Mike!
Love the colors too.
Maybe I should start knitting them again lol.
