Likud Gorillas

One of the most annoying aspects of attending Likud Central Committee meetings, is the smoke. Before entering the actual hall where the speeches take place, the entrance area is so full of smoke, you can choke on it.

Inside the hall, you can often hear mindless gorillas screaming, "Beeeebeee, Melech Yisrael, Chai Chai, viKayam." There were plenty of the same screaming idiots who could compete with Tarzan who would yell "Ahhhhhhhh-Reeeeeeeek" for Arik Sharon. If you tried disagreeing with them, you could find yourself shoved...pushed...nothing nice.

Thankfully, most of the drek from the Likud leadership ran away to Kadima. Good Riddance. We don't need them in the Likud, nor their gorillas in the Central Committee.

Today is the Likud Primaries Election...the big run off between Manhigut Yehudit Leader Moshe Feiglin and Benjamin Netanyahu.

Netanyahu's supporters are mostly on vacation and too bored to participate.

Feiglin's supporters are enthusiastic and actively working around the clock.

Netanyahu is so stressed by the apathy of his supporters, that he arranged for Likud members to be able to vote at ANY Likud voting station around the country, (so vacationers can vote anywhere), and voting times have been extended to 11:00 PM!

While Feiglin and supporters are always portrayed as a right-wing militant fanatics by the media, and even by Netanyahu himself, the truth is, the only violence that ever erupts at Likud events is from everyone else.

NRG reports that Likud activist Shimon Edri attacked and threatened a Feiglin supporter at a polling station in Sederot. A formal complaint has been filed against him at the local police station there.

You can figure out on your own who Edri supports...and who sent him.

Netanyahu's sweating today, and it's not because of the heat.

More Gorilla Warfare - Update: 5:50 PM. Moshe's campaign manager, Michael Fuah was attacked by 4 Israel Aircraft Industry employees at the Shoham Likud polling station. They attacked him after he photographed them arriving to vote in IAI rented vehicles. Fuah has formally filed a formal complaint to the police.

Be a part of history...vote for Moshe today!

I'm not really one for politics, but this is something I'm following and I think is what Israel needs.

In an interview, Feiglin said that if he won, he'd appoint Netanyahu Foreign or Finance Minister, as he'd done good jobs there. I wonder if Netanyahu would return the favor.

Nachum: Which is why Moshe Feiglin would be a great PM. We NEED Netanyahu as Foreign or Finance Minister.

Obviously Netanyahu would not return the "favor" because he doesn't see any value to Feiglin or Manhigut Yehudit.

Jameel: do you think that's because Bibi is an idiot or because he's got an inflated ego?

People you're dreaming! If the left was truly afraid of Feiglin they would've sent some mafia boys or arab terrorists to get rid of him long ago (just remember Zeevi...). The fact that he's still around showes that he's not a real threat. Do you really think the people in power are truly playing this "democracy" game? What, you think if Feiglin wins they're just gonna go home? You don't know who you're dealing with! This is mafia, no less, and they won't play games with someone they consider a real threat...

Bottom line is, I think they're letting him live because he's giving us false hope, that we can still change things from within, blah blah blah... And they want us to have false hope till the very end, just like the nazis y's did...

Think about it...

Anon- I hope you're joking. And if you are, it wasn't funny.

Jameel- Please let us know why you think voting for Feiglin is a good idea and that his leadership would be beneficial to Israel as a secure Jewish democratic state.

According to YNet, exit polls show Bibi with 75%.

Moshe Feiglin!! Awesome!

How would you relate to the statement that is being thrown around that Feiglin brought 9,000 people into the Likud and in this election he got 9,000 votes?
If that statement is true it means that he has not convinced any Likudnikim that he is bringing back a return to Likud values.

Jameel @ The Muqata said...

Rock: Hearing Michael Fuah today on the radio, he said that Feiglin supporters are just like regular Likudnikim. Manhigut's voters surprised Manhigut, and that only about 40% of Manhigut's voters actually went out and voted.

Meaning, that Feiglin really does represent 25% of the Likud, and not just those who were signed up by Manhigut. Overall, 23% is an excellent showing.

We're not there yet...but we're making serious progress.

The problem now is that Netanyahu has decided in dictatorship form to do everything in his power to kick out Feiglin from the party. He even refused to allow Feiglin entry to Ganei HaTaarucha last night. Can you believe that - Feiglin wins 25% of the vote, and Netanyahu bars him from entering, when the reason Feiglin was coming was to now work together with Bibi in the upcoming elections?

Jerry: I'll get back to your question soon :)

Jameel, in light of the lock-out of Feiglin from the hall, your comment at 5:18 pm yesterday sounds prescient [sp?].

The only reason to support Feiglin is because he is destroying the Likud and the destruction of the Likud is good for the right wing. Feiglin has played dirty politics with the best of them. He supported left-leaning candidates in primaries over religious right-wing candidates. He supported Yuval Steinitz over Danny Danon for world Likud chairman even though Danon's positions are closer to Feiglin and Steinitz is in Bibi's camp. THis is because Danon beat Michael Fuah in the primaries. Feiglin has no political ideology other than Feiglin. Everything else is slogans. However, his non-political (i.e. non-party) writings are brilliant and its a shame that he wastes his time on the political silliness. My guess is that Sharon brought him into the Likud to help destroy the party.

We've been members of Likud since before there was one, but I haven't voted for them in decades.
