People routinely ask me how someone with the name "Jameel Rashid" can come and go so easily though passport control in Israel. Here's a videoclip to show you that it's not so difficult as people may think. The Hebrew is pretty simple to follow.
The US doesn't allow racial profiling, so its never an issue...they smile and say have a nice day, while they drag off the 80 year old woman next to me.
(And the good news is, my luggage has been found!)

HILARIOUS.
Without a sense of humor we are lost.Even God is 'mesachek'.(seeAZ 3b and Nefesh Harav 69)
and inside your luggage they found.....(glad they found it)
Daat Y: Thanks! I'll try to look up the Nefesh Harav hyperlink when I get home. Till then...I'll survive on Entenmanns.
i didn't see the video but plan to in the near future. as for getting into the u.s. i often have difficulties considering my official name is Eitan while on my U.S. passport it says "Gregory"-my birth name.
Coming to Israel was like starting a new life, hence,in the path of the halutzim I chose a Hebrew name, and a "strong" one fromt the Zionist perspective:) so now I have 2-no 3 official names. I was born "Grigoriy Ilyich Divinsky" you see. But that was back in the evil empire.
Anyhow, sheyehye be'hazlaha raba,
Eitan aka Greg aka Grisha.

Shalom Eitan!
It's a pleasure seeing you on my blog! Come back often -- all comments are welcome;
constructive criticism as well as lavish praise!
Israel's media is best taken in small doses, while reading alot of the muqata blog for commentary. (And most of the blogs I have listed in my blogroll)
