Welcome Home! (This could also be you)

I never get tired of plane-loads of olim arriving home in Israel -- and two hundred new olim joined us this morning!

In fact, every single time I see pictures like these, or actually attend one of these arrival ceremonies -- I get totally sentimental and choked up.

More and more immigrants from around the world, and specifically North America, are continuing to move home to Israel.

This could be you as well -- have you thought about aliya today?

Our heartfelt best wishes for a quick and easy klita (absorption) -- and make your new life here exceed your dreams.

On behalf of the nation of Israel -- we thank you for returning home; helping us build a better country for us all, together.

--Jameel.

To echo my comment in PT's post, we already speak Russian and Hebrew, so I think we're all set.

Mr. Jamal,

Do you have any stats as to how many people at the same time leave Israel? or how about stats on these new olim every leaving as well.

Im just curious.

Hyrax, actually, over 90% of all Olim that have made Aliyah through NBN have stayed in the country.

Hyrax: The figure currently stands at 70% of Olim from the US return within 15 years. I believe Nefesh was even set up to combat that phenomenon. Although as they're still very young, it's too early to tell yet whether their 90% (as quoted by OC) rate-of-return (sic) will hold. Also- I'm not sure how they discern who's here and who isn't- I personally know at least 12 NBNers who are no longer in Israel and will not be returning, yet aren't considered "yordim" according to some contractual caveat. (ie they're not obliged to pay back their grants, even tho they're never coming back)

Also, in 2006, the stats from the Israeli Population Registry showed that more Israelis immigrated to America than Americans moved here. What can you do.

Anyway it's not all doom. Let's hope the Olim Hadashim enjoy their new lives in the Milk and Honey.

D'ya know someone looking to hire a blogger/speaker/writer? I'd consider the move-back but the obvious concern of Parnassah exists...

If y'know of someone looking to hire, please do email me!
