Question for the readership

Why did the "yekke" tell his wife he would be late coming home from shul tonight?

This is not a yekke joke.

It's either late (in Israel) or early (elsewhere).

Juggling Frogs; Of course its a yekke joke! And its perfectly appropriate for Israel, since tonight, we start saying

ותן טל ומטר לברכה

instead of just ותן ברכה

the extra 2 words would make the yekke "late" from shul

My bad. I thought Israelis were already saying tal umater. You're right: since it's on time it IS a yekkish joke.

Juggling Frogs; While I might not be a yekke, I went to Breuers for a few years :-)
