Why is Abu Mazen saying the Shema?

During US President Obama's speech at the UN yesterday (Sept 21, 2011), PA President Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) took a break to say the Jewish prayer, the "Shema."

Was it because he had just heard that his fellow-Palestinian were rioting in Israel and causing injuries to Jews? Could it be that he had just heard that a 16-month-old Israeli baby suffered moderate injuries when a stone struck her head in a Palestinian riot between Tapuah and Migdalim junctions? (Picture from the Samaria Regional Council, released by the family)

Could it be that he heard Palestinians shot at an Israeli car traveling 7 minutes from Kfar Saba on Highway 55 in the Palestinian village of Nabi Alias (Haaretz's favorite peaceful place)? Luckily, the driver wasn't injured, but Police recovered the bullet in his car that had smashed through the windshield.

Mahmoud Abbas: Its almost Rosh HaShana, the Jewish New Year -- you too can repent!

The time for your teshuva is now, and you can still ask your people to stop the hatred, stop the terror and stop the incitement.

Saying the Shma is a good first step.

Sincerely,

Your friends from the Muqata.

In every generation...

It says in the Haggadah, "In every generation there are those who rise up to destroy us, but the Holy One, blessed be He, saves us from their hand."

Today is Yom HaShaoah - Holocaust Remembrance Day, and these were the words that came to my mind during the minute of silence we observed as the siren cried out.

Whether it was Hitler, Himmler and Eichmann then, or Nasrallah, Abbas, ISM, PLO, Hamas and Ahmadinejad now, the reality hasn't changed. There are those who have a massive irrational hatred of Jews and the Jewish people, and they work to implement our destruction using whatever methods or tools they are best able to use.

Today, the death of one evil man, Osama Bin, was announced.

I was thinking how the US tracked Bin Laden down for 10 years, and in the end killed him as they should have.

While we in Israel capture the murderers of the Fogels, and we capture other terrorists and then let them sit in jail, only to give them educations, learn more terrorism, and then free them later; terrorists such as child killer Samir Kuntar, who at this point doesn't even approach the evil that exists free in the village of Awarta.

Israel sits and talks peace with the terrorist Arafat (who when he was alive sponsored terrorism even as he spoke with us), with the PA President - a proud Holocaust denier (whose troops killed a Jew just last week who only wanted to pray), and perhaps soon even with Hamas.

With antisemitism on the rise globally, PM Netanyahu said the world hasn't learned the lessons of the Holocaust, the Shoah.

But I wonder if it is not really Israel that hasn't learned the lessons of the Shoah and ultimately what should be done to those who would rise up to destroy us.

But there is consolation in the end.

Regardless of what we do and how bad it gets along the way, and how much we won't properly defend ourselves by acknowledging and destroying our enemies, in the end God saves us from their hands and from ourselves.

There is that.

Wikileaks Embarrassing Palestinian Authority

The JPost reports on this interesting WikiLeak:
Top Fatah members aligned with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas asked Israel to attack Hamas ahead of its violent takeover of the Gaza Strip in the summer of 2007, Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) chief Yuval Diskin told the American ambassador to Israel, according to a US diplomatic cable published on Monday by Wikileaks.

The disclosure could embarrass Abbas and his Fatah movement, which Hamas has accused of working with the Israelis. Abbas’s standing among Palestinians has already been weakened by his failure to make progress in peacemaking with Israel.
PA President Abbas is trying to spin damage control, claiming the "leak" is all an Israeli-masterminded Shin Bet Plot, designed to embarrass the PA.
The PA's claims are about as believable as Egypt's claims that Israel's Mossad spy agency was behind killer shark attacks off of Egypt's Sinai peninsula.

The real reason for the embarrassment is that the PA's Constitution claims that "The principles of Islamic Sharia are a major source for legislation [in Palestine]." It doesn't look that great for the PA and Abbas, when they turn to the Zionist Infidel to knock off other Sharia-fearing Muslims.

Oops. I bet Haaretz would be upset at this leak as well.

Who is Abu Mazen's Hero?

Nope, its not President Obama.

This wasn't years ago, when he wrote his doctoral thesis claiming the Holocaust never happened, but in an interview yesterday, Nov 23.

The Elder of Zion blogger bring us the interview, which the Palestinian News Servive "Maan" neglected to translate into English, (so that the US State Department can easily continue to donate hundreds of millions of US dollars to this man and his mission.)

"We must also recall the outstanding [early] leadership of the Palestinian people, the Grand Mufti of Palestine-Haj Mohammed Amin al-Husseini, who sponsored the struggle from the beginning, and sponsored the struggle and displacement for the cause and died away from his home."

The Mufti was a rabid Jew-hater who was the driving force behind not only the 1929 massacres in Jerusalem and Hebron but also the 1936-39 riots that resulted in the deaths of hundreds. He moved to Germany during World War II, hoping that Hitler would win and allow to him murder every Jewish man, woman and child in Palestine, and proposing plans to do exactly that.

Durban II, Iran, Palestinians and Yom HaShoah

What could be more fitting than for the Durban II conference against Anti-racism to be opened hours before Israel commemorates "Yom HaShoah" -- Holocaust Memorial Day.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has previously denied the Holocaust's existence was the keynote speaker and did not disappoint.
Dozens of western delegates participating in the UN racism conference in Geneva walked out of the forum as an act of protest...as the Iranian president began attacking Israel as a racist nation. Ahmadinejad accused Israel of being the "most cruel and racist regime."(YNET)
Unfortunately, Ahmadinejad isn't the only Arab leader to deny the Holocaust's existence.

USA President Obama's primary Palestinian partner (and president of the Palestinian Authority) Mahmoud Abbas wrote his doctoral dissertation specifically denying the Holocaust.

He compiled his dissertation into a book which described the Holocaust as "The Zionist fantasy, the fantastic lie that six million Jews were killed."[35] He also wrote:

"It seems that the interest of the Zionist movement, however, is to inflate this figure [of Holocaust deaths] so that their gains will be greater. This led them to emphasize this figure [six million] in order to gain the solidarity of international public opinion with Zionism. Many scholars have debated the figure of six million and reached stunning conclusions—fixing the number of Jewish victims at only a few hundred thousand."[36][37][38]

Additionally, he claimed that the much smaller number of Jews which he admitted that the Nazis did massacre were actually the victims of a Zionist-Nazi plot:

"The Zionist movement led a broad campaign of incitement against the Jews living under Nazi rule to arouse the government's hatred of them, to fuel vengeance against them and to expand the mass extermination."[39]

Arab sympathy for the Nazis, and hatred for Jews is nothing new. Way before 1967 when Israel "captured" the West Bank, long before Israel was a State, the Nazis and Arabs collaborated together to kill Jews.

Yasser Arafat's hatred of Jews, one that animates many Palestinian Arabs today, is traceable to the influence of his uncle, Nazi war criminal Haj Amin Muhammad al-Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem. Husseini was a leader of the 1920 Arab riots where terror against Jews was introduced into a previously peaceful Palestine. British Mandate Governor General Herbert Samuel subsequently appointed him Mufti of Jerusalem. As Mufti, he instigated murderous pogroms against Jews in 1921, 1929, and during the 1936-1939 rebellion. Husseini consolidated his control over the Palestinian Arabs with a campaign of murder against Jews and Arabs, the recruitment of armed militias, and the raising of funds from around the Muslim world by means of promulgating anti-Jewish propaganda. Certainly there are echoes of Husseini today in his nephew Arafat.

Husseini became a supporter of the Nazi "final solution" to the "Jewish question" in the early days of Hitler's regime. In 1939, when his Nazi sympathies came to the attention of the British, he fled to Berlin where Adolf Hitler personally welcomed him. The Nazi's lodged Husseini comfortably, for the duration of the war, in a confiscated Hebrew School and set him up as Prime Minister in exile of a pro-Nazi pan-Arab government. His foreign minister in exile was Iraqi exile Rashid Ali al-Kilani and his war minister Fawsi al-Kaukji. The Nazi Foreign Ministry paid him $10,000 per month and Himmlers SS transferred portions of the "sonderfund," funds confiscated from Jews, for his use in setting up pro-Nazi and anti-Jewish activities in the Arab world.

According to documentation from the Nuremberg and Eichmann trials, the SS helped finance Husseini's efforts in the 1936-39 uprising in Palestine. Adolf Eichmann actually visited Palestine and met Husseini at that time and subsequently maintained regular contact with him later in Berlin. Heinrich Himmler, head of the SS, took Husseini on tours of Auschwitz and financed his Moslem academy in Dresden, set up by the Nazis as a training ground for their envisioned Nazi/Muslim puppet government. Husseini recruited Bosnian Muslims in Nazi occupied Yugoslavia in his efforts to ethnically cleanse their country of Jews. When the Red Cross offered to mediate with Eichmann in a trade between German citizens and 10,000 Jewish children being sent from Poland to the Theresienstadt death camp, Husseini directly intervened with Himmler and was successful in canceling the exchange. (FreeRepublic)

For the United States to pressure Israel into negotiating with the Palestinians, led by a published and self-proclaimed Holocaust denier is simply abhorrent.

To offer Israel security from Iran at the expense of expelling Jews from the Yizhar settlement, ("Buscher for Yitzhar") and converting parts of the historic land of Israel to be Jew-free, Judenrein is the ultimate insult.

President Obama has missed the point completely.

Walking out on Durban II to object over Ahmadinejad is meaningless -- when pressuring Israel to accept a "2 state solution", one being a Palestinian State, ethnically cleansed of Jews.

Arabs betray America (again)...pass the Humus.

Israeli columnist, Nahum Barnea analyzes the Palestinian Authority Meccafest, where terror groups Fatah and Hamas try to live together in harmony (i.e., stop killing each other, so they can focus on killing Israelis)
The bad news is that once again we are like rabbits caught in the headlights of a car. The really embarrassing news is that we are stuck there along with the United States.

By the time the agreement between Mahmoud Abbas and Hamas was signed in Mecca on Thursday, the American Administration had been betrayed three times: Once by Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, then by Saudi king Abdullah, and finally by Abbas. These three American allies ignored Condoleezza Rice's pleas; they negotiated with Khaled Mashaal and bent her will in his favor.

The agreement constitutes a severe blow to Rice's reputation in Washington. Despite the White House's warnings, she has been investing much effort in a bid to strengthen and glorify Abbas. Next Monday, on February 19th, she was set to have been rewarded for her efforts in a festive summit under her auspices. The summit between Ehud Olmert and Abbas would have served as a first step towards commencing talks between the two sides. The agreement signed in Mecca has emptied the summit of content.

Currently Rice is debating whether to hold the summit or cancel it. Via diplomatic channels, Abbas promised to wait with the establishment of the Palestinian national unity government until after the summit. From Rice's point of view this is small consolation. Abbas is actually seeking to remain under US patronage as if the agreement he signed with Hamas does not exist, and to cooperate with Hamas as if America, the Quartet and Israel do not exist. Rice is finding this a bit too much to swallow.

Abbas and his associates did not go to Mecca by choice, but rather, out of fear. The violent clashes between Fatah forces and Hamas threatened to escalate into a full blown civil war. Abbas is not cut out for this type of conflict. He feared that anarchy would turn the Palestinian Authority into a Middle Eastern model of Somalia. And perhaps, as Israeli sources argued, he also feared for his own life. Either way, he preferred temporary calm with Hamas over a long-term treaty with the Americans. The Saudis and the Egyptians followed suit.

The US Administration believed it could cultivate a Sunni coalition that would span from North America to Lebanon and would stand up against Iran's Shiite megalomania. The Mecca agreement, signed last week, will force the Americans to rethink the situation. Perhaps those who are proposing that the Administration regard the Arab-Israeli conflict as a lost cause and focus their attention on other parts of the world are right. Perhaps they are right in proposing that Hamas' terrorist traits be ignored. Alternately, perhaps those proposing that the US Administration encourage talks between Israel and Syria are right. (More on YNET)

Unfortunately, Barnea really believes that glorifying Abbas "the moderate Sunni" will bring about the possibility of change.

Fundamentalist Islam is not the only threat to Israel, and "moderate" Sunnis, which the US State Department, Dr. Dore Gold, and others like to consider as realistic alternatives, are only possibilities -- if they aren't terrorists.

Glorifying a terrorist and holocaust denier like Abbas is what exacerbates the problem -- it does absolutely nothing for peace in the Middle East.
