Not by tear gas...

Ynet is reporting that the official IDF position will be that Jawaher Abu-Rachmeh died of prior illness and poor medical treatment - and not from tear gas.

The report states that this will be confirmed by Palestinian sources too.

PA releases - IDF Captures

The PA (Palestinian Authority) released 5 Hamas terrorists yesterday. The order for release came directly from PA President Abbas.

IDF promptly recaptured them.

Coming soon: Update on investigation of death Jawaher Abu-Raham.

Responsibility

The JPost is reporting an interesting statement by the IDF today:

In a statement issued, the IDF spokesman said that it "holds the Hamas terrorist organization solely responsible for maintaining the calm in the Gaza Strip and for any terrorist activity emanating from it."
This is, I believe, a new and unique position for the IDF and Israeli government.

Throughout Oslo, until today, the IDF and government treated each claim of terror originating from a different organization at face value - that it represented a different organization.

Even as it knew it wasn't, and that the PA funded, permitted and even directed the activities of all the "splinter" terror groups. Even after the (PA's) Muqata was raided and documentation proving the connection of the PA to terror was unquestionable, it continued with this fiction for political reasons.

Even today, the Israeli government knows that the Palestinian Authority is behind much of the delegitimization attacks against Israel (including by so-called "grass-roots" organizations), using the same misdirection tactics. But for political reasons Israel ignores this connection.

So, this statement by the IDF, placing all responsibility on Hamas, regardless of who claims to be responsible for the terror attack is a significant change in policy, or at least in stated policy. Perhaps it will change in policy on the ground too.

Perhaps we can hope that it will change how Israel relates to our other enemy, the Palestinian Authority. (And using the same policy, are they really a separate entity/enemy, or should their internal squabbles with Hamas not really concern us?)

Food for thought.

Shabbat Shalom.

Disney Theme Park Coming to Israel!

NIS 600m Disney theme park planned for Israel!
Globes Reports:
New Lineo Cinemas (2006) Ltd., owned by the Edery family and Walt Disney Company (NYSE: DIS) investment arm Shamrock Holdings, will build a NIS 600 million 25-screen multiplex and Disney amusement park at the Check Post exit from the Carmel Tunnel in Haifa. New Lineo owns the Cinema City Ltd. multiplexes in Ramat Hasharon and Rishon LeZion.

The entertainment complex will be built on an 80-dunam (20-acre) site and will include 50,000 square meters of cinemas and shops and a 30,000-square meter Disney amusement park. The land is owned by a local family.

The new complex will be near the Cinemall, which has stores and a 23-screen Yes Planet multiplex.

Haifa Mayor Yona Yahav said, "This plan expresses confidence in our plans to turn Haifa Bay in a thriving business area. The plan began with the municipality's assistance in the building of Cinemall and the upgrade of the mall, previously known as the Lev Hamifratz Mall, and the building of the transport hub for the cable car, which carries passengers up to the Technion and Haifa University."

WOW!

I wonder if Israeli Arabs will visit -- in light of the Fatwa against Mickey Mouse.

YNET reported this 2 years ago...

In an interview with Al-Majd Television, sheikh Muhammad Al-Munajid, a former diplomat who once served in the Saudi embassy in Washington, condemned cartoons that endear rodents to their viewers.

Islamic law, he said, sees the mouse as "a repulsive, corrupting creature" while children today see mice as loveable and "awesome" because of animated shows like Tom and Jerry, and Disney staple Mickey Mouse.

"Mickey Mouse has become an awesome character, even though according to Islamic law, Mickey Mouse should be killed in all cases," Al-Munajid tells the interviewer.

"The shari'a refers to the mouse as 'little corrupter,' and says it is permissible to kill it in all cases. It says that mice set fire to the house, and are steered by Satan. The mouse is one of Satan's soldiers," he goes on to say.

NIF-Funded Organization Ejects IDF Radio Reporters from "Co-existance Concert"

New Israel Fund The well-funded tentacles of the New Israel Fund continue to challenge the legitimacy of the State of Israel.

IDF Radio reports:

The invitation to the event promised an extraordinary demonstration of co-existence. Musicians from the Palestinian National Orchestra came to Haifa to appear before an Israeli crowd, but instead of music bridging their positions and differences of opinion, the concert only managed to sharpen and divide when the Palestinian musicians refused to answer questions from the IDF-radio reporters. The IDF radio reporters were later forced to leave the concert hall because they were dressed in IDF uniforms.

The cultural event was held last night (Sunday) and was intended to put differences aside -- 40 Palestinian National Orchestra musicians arrived at the Kreiger Hall in Haifa before an Israeli audience, but when posed questions by the IDF Radio reporters, they refused the uniformed IDF soldiers, even though they were simply reporters for IDF radio.

The uncomfortable situation continued after the interview session, when the concert's organizers announced that recordings could only be made during the general rehearsal, and that the IDF radio reporters would not be allowed to stay for the concert because they were wearing IDF uniforms. The musicians felt uncomfortable performing before uniformed IDF soldiers, yet the primary question is, how can IDF soldiers be prevented from attending a concert which is held in a concert hall that belongs to the Israeli city of Haifa?

The only response to the question came from Jafar Perach, the director of the Mossawa Center for Arab Civil Rights in Israel, that tried to explain the incident in the name of the orchestra. "The musicians are used to IDF uniforms interrogating them at checkpoints, but it was strange for them at a cultural event. You [IDF Radio] arrived to interview them wearing the uniforms of the occupying army."

The Haifa crowd that came to hear the concert was also at unease and offered creative solutions; including that the IDF soldiers "dress up" [not in uniform]. The Haifa City spokesman, Tzachi Terno said "this behavior is unacceptable. We denounce any boycott based on nationality race, dress or anything. Specifically in Haifa, there is no place for such behavior, and we will be very careful in the future about letting activities into Haifa that boycott others." (translated by the Muqata Newswire)

The Mossawa Center for Arab Civil Rights in Israel is another proud New Israel Fund project. You can see them listed on the NIF website, listed under "Palestinian Israeli" organizations funded by NIF.

IDF Press Conference on Death of Abu Rahma

10 PM - Exclusive Update:

Senior IDF military sources briefed an exclusive group of bloggers this evening on the events surrounding this past Friday's Bilin demonstration and the "alleged tear gassing to death" of a Palestinian woman, Jawaher Abu Rahma.

IDF: We have reason to believe that the death 2 days ago was because of another reason than what the Palestinians are claiming (tear gas inhalation).

Facts: Abu Rahma's documented lab work is dated on Friday at 2:45 PM.
Her admission time to the ER in the same Ramallah hospital was 3:20 PM.

Hospital Lab work is usually done after you arrive at the hospital, not before you arrive.

There is no hospital ER admission report, no ER summary report, and no hospital records of this woman.

The official PA Ramallah Hospital's death certificate for Abu Rahma states as the cause of death as follows (this is word for word):

Cause of death “Inhaling gas of an Israeli solider according to the family”

That is the entire medical basis for the family's allegations.

We know this woman visited the same hospital 10 days ago and many other times in the past month. When we looked at the medication she was taking – it was for cancer.

We have never heard of anyone dying from inhaling tear gas (5 years of experience with this particular tear gas). There were hundreds of other rioters in the same open air location, in broad daylight and yet she was the only one "allegedly" affected by the gas.

Palestinians claim she has been participating in the riots for the past 5 years as her brother is the head leader of the weekly Bil'in riots.

However, there are no photos of this woman participating at this riot or ANY riot over the past 5 years, and these riots occur on a weekly basis and are heavily photographed and documented.

We always see photos of rioters – yet this time, no photos appeared of this woman.

We believe there are many unsolved questions – and our assumptions are:

1. Abu Rahma wasn't event at the riot
2. Abu Rahma died at her home
3. Abu Rahma was chronically ill

Additionally, the IDF buys this tear gas/riot-dispersal method from companies abroad, and this is the same non-lethal tear gas used by riot control forces around the Western world.

More details to be updated here in a few minutes (10:00 PM)

Update; 10:04 PM

IDF has heard about the honor killing theory, that Abu Rahma was stabbed to death for being pregnant as a family "honor killing", however they cannot confirm this and the direction they currently are progressing is more in towards death from a chronic illness.

Israel's High Court ruled that the IDF must change the path of the security fence to go outside of Bil'in, thereby agreeing to the Palestinian claims. The new fence is under construction and should be completed within a few months. The IDF will remove the older fence once the new one is complete -- therefore the current riots are completely propaganda.

Abu Rahma's brother was the primary leader of the riots – therefore we would expect his sister to be by his side – but there’s no documentation of her being at any of the riots over the past 5 years, or at this one in particular.

Lastly, the reports to the press and IDF from the Palestinians is that 1 person was lightly wounded in the riot, and released from the Ramallah hospital to their home, an hour after admittance. The reports were changed later that two people in total were lightly wounded and released after an hour.

You can't make this stuff up

Just 1 year ago I wrote about the Hamas agent working in the US Consulate in Jerusalem in the carpool.

Last week I tweeted about the planned missile attack against Teddy Sports Stadium in Jerusalem and all the Beitar fans.

It turns out, that two of the wannabe Hamas terrorists are employees of the British Consulate in Jerusalem.

The punch line? I don't know. You just can't make this stuff up.

But I can think of the lesson, but won't write it, because it isn't really politically correct.

Who really killed Jawaher Abu Rahma

IDF has announced that Jawaher ABu Rahma was not even at the violent, weekly Bil'in protest.

So how did Jawaher ABu Rahma die?

Apparently she died of cancer (probably Leukemia) - completely unconnected to the protest.

In fact, she was in a Ramallah hospital for 10 days prior to her death.

All her family's, the Left's, and the PA's statements about teargas poisoning are typical Palestinian lies and slander which are readily eaten up by the Left and gullible (synonyms for the same thing).

Now you know also why the PA refused to cooperate with the IDF investigation.

So the next time you hear an accusation from any of them against Israel. Take a deep breath, count to 10, and just ignore what they say.
--

Jameel is attending a special news conference with the IDF spokesperson at 9:30PM tonight specifically to discuss Bil'in. It will be a separate post.

WUJS guest speaker calls for Israel's destruction

Over by JoeSettler, I wrote about the shameful inclusion of Saeb Erekat in a recent WUJS congress.

The subject of the conference was "delegitimization of Israel and BDS campaigns on campus" and finding a "creative strategy to combat Antisemitism".

I wondered how, "Moderate" PA Negotiator Saeb Erekat, qualified as a speaker when he himself had stated that "the Palestinian Authority will never recognize Israel as the Jewish state."

If WUJS had brought him in to display what type of battles these young Jews would be facing on campus it would be one thing, but instead he used the exact tactics that these young people need to learn to be fighting - and left them utterly confused as to what message belongs to the enemy's, how the enemy argues, and what they are to do about it - exactly what these kids have to be able to recognize and fight on campus.

I write this as it was brought to my attention Saeb Erekat's latest statements.

In the Guardian, Saeb Erekat writes that there will be no peace until Israel recognizes and accepts the "non-negotiable" Arab Refugee Right of Return for all Arabs and all their descendants - and not into "Palestine", but rather, into what's left of Israel that the PA doesn't occupy.

The entire article is a delegitimization attack against Israel.

But forget about that.

Saeb Erekat is openly calling for the destruction of Israel by overrunning it with Arab refugee and their descendents.

And he wrote this 2 weeks before the WUJS conference.

I can only hope that some of the Jewish youngsters that heard Erekat's attacks on Israel will be smart enough to see it for what it is.

As for the rest, I hope they at least understand that the WUJS conference was a complete failure, even if they left it too confused to fight delegitimization against Israel - but unfortunately as seen from their comments in the JPost, that would not seem to have been the case.

Here is a map of the Jewish state as proposed by Count Bernadotte (the part in orange would be the Jewish state), who was mentioned in Erekat's article:

His plan allowed for 2 years of Jewish immigration to the new (further reduced) Jewish state, at which point, no more would be allowed to meet Arab demands.
