Muqata Kids Invade America

While Jews continue to flock to Israel -- ascending to Israel from around the world, the Muqata kids left in the opposite direction...

This was one of the quietest Shabbatot I can recall in ages (well, at home), as the Mrs. @ I enjoyed a quieter than usual shabbat with fewer kids. The older Muqata kids decided to venture out an "Amazing Trip" of their own -- and using my hard-earned frequent flier points, are visiting the US.

The airline referred to them as "Unaccompanied Minors" -- and they left us behind to check out America and see if their English is as up to par as they like to think. (Maybe we should have taught them Spanish?)

Without any proteczia from the Mrs. or myself, they sweet-talked their way into the cockpit for a photo-op with the pilots during the flight. (twice!)

I'm sure you all see the family resemblence...

Of course, they had to make friends will the air crew as well; how else to ensure an unlimited supply for drinks and food?

I guess the flight was too long, even for the Muqata kids, and they were climbing the walls when the plane landed. In fact -- missing the Kotel, Muqata child #1 scaled this wall instead.

But this one really threw them...Hummers in our neighborhood are all green, dusty and bulletproofed. This silly black one doesn't have ANY of those features. What a waste.

That's it -- enough of their vacation. As the Muqata kids continue to spread the message of love for Israel throughout the United States, we'll return tomorrow with more of our regularly scheduled blog programming.

Oh, and don't even bother trying to ID these kids around the US -- they have strict instructions not to reveal even the slightest bit of incriminating evidence as to their family's secret identity or location. I tested them before they left -- words like "Jameel" and "Muqata" don't even make them raise an eyebrow...or smirk.

Then again, they probably just roll their eyes at my hobby, and try to ignore it as much as possible.

Wherever I am, my blog turns towards Eretz Yisrael

Should have taught them Spanish. NY, NJ, Florida, Texas, California.

And it would help improve their Yiddishkeit. In my neck of the woods, every Jewish bookstore has a Spanish language section, there are at least two Spanish shuls, and several that offer services (both the prayer and social types) in Spanish.

Holy hyrex beat me to it, but I was gonna say that they didn't need your protexia to get into the cockpit. apparently, the pilot and co-pilot are relatives of yours.

Is that Salim trying to climb over the wall of the muqata to get out?

Moze: The Muqata family has a whole range of yishuv and location t-shirts including: Elazar, Efrat, Gush Etzion, The Shomron Regional Council, Gush Katif, Netzarim, Alcatraz, and San Diego.

If I went through the trouble of the smiley faces on the kids, you don't think I would have yellowed out the name of muqata land?

JCop and Holy Hyrax: Sorry, I can't confirm or deny any relationship to the pilots. IDF Military Censor.

BEC: Must be all those bamba, mustard and chocolate spread sandwiches they've been eating.

The Sabra: Please tell us! We want to know!

Glad they're having a good time and you're getting some time off! Are they staying with relatives or something?

Very cute.
I love the way your kids are BH always smiling.
My wife and I were just discussing when, if ever, we spent a shabbos without any of the kids around. Probably before the oldest was born, but we aren't 100% sure.
