Photo of Victorious IDF Soldier Annoys Palestinians

The following picture of the grinning, "V" for victory IDF Soldier in the Gaza strip area has annoyed Palestinians to the point of exasperation.

On the Arabic "paldf" website, this picture has generated quite a lot of chatter from angry Arabs who believe the "V" for victory sign is reserved exclusively for them. (The Google Arabic to English translator is your friend)

Hope we start bombing Gaza soon to stop the continued rocket attacks against us.

We need to start using the "V" sign more often -- and be worthy of victory!

It's all part of our Global Zionist Conspiracy! First we stole their falafel, and now we have appropriated their "V" sign!

Soon it will all be ours! Bwahahaha!

(We stole Batman too, you know. Nobody's thought to blame it un the Jooz yet, though, even though everyone know that we run Hollywood...)

Yeah, wasn't it cool?

Kenneth Johnson, the creator of the original miniseries, is currently working on a remake/sequel. Also, ABC is planning to redo V as a "reimagined" series, à la the new Battlestar Galactica.

I dont know about this battelstar gallactica connection, but I could definitely go for a remake... (though the truth is remakes are almost never as good as the original)...

ABC wants to redo V in a manner significantly different from the original, just as the Sci-Fi channel recently redid BG in a manner significantly differen from the original. (In the case of BG, btw, the remake actually was better.)

Johnson's project is supposedly closer to the original.

The original series IIRC was pretty close to the book.

That's because the miniseries came before the book.

So it's a "Palestinian Gesture" now. Well, I'm sure Japanese tourists the world over will disagree with them.

Israel needs another flag. One with a fist giving the finger in the center of the magen david.
