Opinion Polls: Israelies and Palestinians

Poll for Israelis: (complete data here)

There are those who say that if Israel returns to 1967 borders, including a full withdrawal from the Golan Heights, then Israel will enjoy peace for generations, as the Arabs will no longer have any claims against Israel.

What do you think of the above statement: Is it simplistic and naive, or correct and logical?

1. Simplistic and naive 80%
2. Correct and Logical 10%
3. Don't know, different answer 10%

Poll for Palestinians: (complete data here)

If the immigration possibility to the West would be open to you, would you immigrate or stay in your country?”

1. I would stay 55.3 %
2. I would immigrate 38.3 %
3. I don't know 6.3%

The Palestinian polls:
Of course they would rather remain in Israel rather than immigrate. However they have it rather cushy in my country, don't you think so Jameel? I know what I'd do:I GIVE THEM A GOOD SHOVE AND SEND THEM TO THEIR REAL COUNTRY called:JORDAN.
You Jameel may not approve of my proposition.
Sorry,Israel will rid itself of this BIG headache in having to deal with "the enemies within".We have enough of the ENEMIES without as it is.My thought for what is worth.

In miluim a few years ago, I got sent to guard the eastern M.A. exit out of Jericho. At the time (maybe even until today), it was the sole bottleneck for Yehuda and Shomron Arabs to leave to Jordan thru the Allenby Bridge. I noticed that the buses would leave full and many would return empty, very few were full. The soldier verifying the paperwork confirmed that this is standard but refrained to estimate how many don't return.

I contacted an immigration lawyer several years ago to get some info about this. He said that the main obstacle for 'Yosh' Arabs from emigrating is monetary. Immigration lawyers have a standard fee for the process but it is out of reach for most. He confirmed that if someone could subsidize the price for the Arabs and make it more affordable for them, many more would be able to leave.

the Arabs will no longer have any claims against Israel

They don't want a [non-viable] West Bank state and have never claimed to want one there. They want all of Israel. The claims will stop after their hamulot return to their legendary lands in Gush Dan, Beit Shean, Safed, and Beer Sheva.

For Jameel.
When I discovered you...thinking
it odd with such title/moniker
you must agree it looked somewhat something out of"Pallywood"
What I omitted to do was:Read
"The Muqata For Beginners"
Apologies all around Jameel.
I just jumped at the deep end
instead of carefully reading your
cool advice.
Having done so properly a day ago,I noticed my "faut pas" and rectifying my bad judgement.
Like where you lived, what you had to endure etc.
Kind regards
K

From a "night owl" To Josh.
A very apt and well written post.
Before I retire let me congratulate you on all the point you made which correspond to mine verbatim.I am cutting/pasting what you said our thoughts converge.
You said:I contacted an immigration lawyer several years ago to get some info about this. He said that the main obstacle for 'Yosh' Arabs from emigrating is monetary. the Arabs will no longer have any claims against Israel.

What some of us have said this continuously. The problem Josh is they are quite cofortable to live in our contry because they find it very amenable altough they never stop complaining.
What ever the reson, there is one thing I know, and it is: So long as they continue in the same belligerent way, there will never be peace with them.I know what they want is not a state of their own,but they want all of our country PERIOD.And this they will never achieve no matter how much they try.Last but not least I say:Who's country is this is anyway. We will survive inspite of their demands.
Best wishes to us all Israelis, and may the good LORD knows we are the INHERITORS OF this OUR HOLY LAND and not the usurpers the Arabs.

Good post Josh for the sensitive post you have proferred.
