TRT1's television producer Saljuk Trubanulad responded to the allegations mentioned in the previous post about their show.
"The show is not about IDF soldiers, we also wrote this in a warning that appeared on the screen at the beginning of the program,"
The first episode is the story of a "Palestinian" family living in the West Bank.
Ah-huh. So exactly which army is it in the West Bank? The Jordanians?
"...this show isn't about Israeli soldiers but rather about a specific group that is responsible for all the murders."
And who might that group be?
"These soldiers are not Israelis, we know the Israeli public does not justify the operation. It's just a small group of soldiers who murdered Muhammad al-Dura, the Palestinian boy."
Well now he's making sense. The riddle is unraveling.
Mohammed al-Dura was killed by Palestinian soldiers.
Saljuk says he's not talking about Israeli soldiers.
And we know that the only other soldiers in the West Bank are "Palestinian" soldiers.
The only logical conclusion is that these are Palestinian soldiers in the show massacring their own people.
That does make sense when you put his words in the right context.

Only in Israel -- Bride vs Israel Electric Company
This story is simply amazing. The Israel Electric Company sent around notices that a certain neighborhood in Raanana was going to have their electricity turned off one day for routine service.
Unfortunately, it turned out to be the same day as someone's wedding, and it would be chaotic on the day of her wedding not to have any electricity at home!
She and her parents called the electric company -- and the outcome was more dedicated than any customer relations story I've heard about from anywhere else in the world.
Only in Israel -- read the story here. The submitter summed it up:
hat-tip: CR's wall on FB."...It was truly amazing. There are people here with big hearts who made it clear that our happiness was important to them as well.
We sent a warm thank-you letter to the electric company along with the attached pictures.
Just goes to show that Chesed [kindness] is alive and well in the land and people of Israel."

1700 Year Old Holy Land Footprints Found
Lod, the city once associated with Israel's primary airport (though now luggage tags say "TLV" - Tel-Aviv on it)...is back in the limelight. While they may not have been the markings of a pair of Naot sandals, Israel Antiquities Authority conservators discovered footprints over 1,700 years old in early October under the Lod mosaic and at least one print resembling a modern sandal. It seems ancient footprints all popping up all over the Israel. First there was Prof Adam Zartal's find...and now the under-the-mosaic footprints.
"This is also what happened with the Lod mosaic: beneath a piece on which vine leaves are depicted, we discovered that the mosaic's builders incised lines that indicate where the tesserae should be set, and afterwards, while cleaning the layer, we found the imprints of feet and sandals: sizes 34, 37, 42 and 44."He said that similarities of the footprints of the sandals lie in the fact that sandals today are based on the footwear of the past.
"They're simple," Neguer said. "If it's comfortable, why change it."(JPost)
Cool.

Cold Turkey
I hope this Friday we get to hear Caroline Glick weigh in on this.
If you read my post on JoeSettler, you'd know that relations with Turkey are going down the toilet at warp speed.
Apparently there isn't much the Turkish government won't do at the moment to effectively end its relationship with Israel.
On Turkish State sponsored TV TRT1, the Turks are running a new prime-time show that portrays Israeli soldiers as indiscriminately and bloodthirstily murdering Arabs left and right - even lining them the Arabs up to be killed by firing squads.
As you can see, the fighting scenes are really poorly choreographed. It looks like the Palestinians are shooting each other in the back. Hmmm. Rather true to life on second thought.

Anyway, unless you're an anti-Semite, you know that Israel doesn't do such things. (Here's where our idiotic/dweeb anti-Semitic readers actually think they receive an invitation to comment).
Yet the question deserves to be asked, where are the Turks coming up with ideas like firing squads and the other things they blame on Israel in this popular TV series?
Why actually one needn't look much further than Turkey's own sordid trysts with Genocide.
Firing squads are part of the history of Turkeys in their attempt at genocide against the Armenian people, and more recently the Kurds.
Yup, the writers of this Turkish trash are actually projecting and portraying parts of their own sordid history on TV, and rebranding Turkey as Israel.
Must be the guilt.
This Latma piece on Turkey is far more entertaining.
The piece starts at 3:47 and finishes at 6:13

Meet the MOBB -- Mother of all Bunker Busters
While US Administration officials hope their amicable diplomacy will convince Iran's mad leader Ahmadinijad to stop his country's quest for nuclear weapons, the Pentagon is already preparing military options.
Last week, the Pentagon requested from Congress (and received approval) to redirect $52 million dollars for the acceleration of purchasing 4 MOP bombs -- Massive Ordnance Penetrators. This 30,000 pound weapon is approximately 31.5 inches in diameter and 20.5 feet long, with about the same amount of explosives inside as Wallis’ Tallboy (5,300 pounds).
These weapons will be needed to help destroy Iran's underground nuclear program.

The warhead case is made from a special high-performance steel alloy, which lets it survive the high-speed impact into a hardened concrete bunker facility. The MOB's design helps it maintain structural integrity during that impact.
20 feet long -- click to see how huge this is...
Remember this post -- you'll be reading about these weapons in the not too far future.

Where's the Hybrid Minivan
Most Settlers families are large and growing (Baruch Hashem) but that presents its own unique set of challenges.
One of them is transportation.
I think you see more minivans and station wagons in the Yishuvim than anywhere else in Israel (in the Chareidi towns you'll see more vans). The Mitsubishi Space Wagon, Mazda 5, and the Mazda MPV seem to be the most popular at the moment.
Minivans as you know don't get such great gas mileage compared to Sedans. It's another expensive expense.
A recent study was done that said that (if I recall correctly) at least 50% of Israelis plan or want to buy a Hybrid (or Electric) car within the next 3 years.
The Prius is very popular in Israel and you are seeing more and more of them on the streets. But of course it only has 5 seats, and that's not enough for the typical Settler family.
Yet there are no Hybrid minivans in Israel (or in America either as far as I can tell)!
You would think that there would be.

The typical family (and not just Settlers) would love to have a Hybrid minivan. A lot of driving is stop and go local, and that's where Hybrid's really shine. The gas savings would be tremendous. And to a large family that would be very significant.
So what's going on with the car manufacturers?
Where's my Hybrid minivan?

Immoral Car Trashing?
B'Tzelem, the pro-Palestinian organization has reported the following as a Human Rights abuse:Palestinians from the south Mount Hebron area in the West Bank claim that in the past few days IDF soldiers have destroyed several vehicles belonging to people who have used them in attempts to smuggle Palestinians into Israel.Am I missing something? How exactly does this go against IDF values and guidelines -- what's wrong here?
The B'Tselem human rights group on Tuesday quoted one Palestinian as saying that seven or eight vehicles have been destroyed by the IDF in recent days.
"Yesterday they burned down a Ford Transit that was worth NIS 15,000 ($4,000)," the Palestinian said, "And the day before that they set fire to a Subaru. Sometimes they push the vehicles into the valley, or ram into them with their jeeps."
The IDF Spokesperson's Office said in response, "The alleged incidents go against the army's values and guidelines. (YNET)
In other countries, its routine that cars used by criminals, such as drug dealers, are impounded and then sold or destroyed.

Bnei Akiva Teens Slam Leftist IDF Objectors
Its not enough that Turkey's Prime Minister publicly slanders Israel, saying we fired phosphorous bombs on innocent children in Gaza. OK, so Turkey's Islamic community isn't friendly with Israel -- not overly surprising. Its not enough that self-proclaimed "Zionist" Judge Goldstone slanders Israel that we [allegedly] committed war crimes in Gaza. Goldstone's slept through the testimony of Sederot citizens who were rocketed around the clock by Gaza for 7 years -- not overly surprising either.
Yet for a group of pseudo intellectual, left wing Tel Aviv highschoolers to bash the IDF and Israel as well -- well, it may be expected, but enough is enough. The 80 brats got lots of media attention by sending around a letter, calling on teens to refuse to serve in the IDF.
The letter concludes by stating, "Our refusal to be soldiers of occupation derives from our fidelity to the values and society that surround us, and is part of our continuing battle for peace and equality, a battle whose Jewish-Arab character proves peace and coexistence are possible." (YNET)These are the Goldstones of tomorrow.
Luckily, the vast majority of Israel is not comprised of such spineless fools.
Outraged religious teenagers from the Bnei Akiva Youth Movement announced that the leftists who refuse to server may be 80, but we're 80,000.
In under a few hours, a counter letter was written, and has already been signed by 500 teens, with the numbers growing quickly.
"We can't let the voice of one minority change the entire national mood to one big down," says 18-year old Eran Vider. He and his friends have decided to write a letter of opposition calling on teens to enlist and fight the evasion of army service. Why can't they at least perform national service?
"Every year we hear the voices of those calling for the evasion of service with ideological declarations, and this year we have decided not to remain indifferent or silent, to show that this is the opinion of a minority and that we, the youth of today, want to continue in the path of the founders of Israel," the letter says
"Really, we don't understand them," says Vider. "If they can't accept the holding of weapons, why can't they at least perform national service?" (YNET)
Its obvious, but I'll leave that to the leftists who read this blog to provide a "defensible" answer.
