Additional explanation: The gate to any IDF base, settlement, kibbutz, moshav, etc is a called by the intials "shin gimmel " -- which stands for "Shaar Gader - שער גדר", the gateway of the fence.

Shin-Gimmel originally stood for Shomer Gdudi, battalion watchguard. Nothing to do with gate. Just sort of slipped into common usage.
YMedad: Actually, Wiki has it listed as Shoter Gedudi.
I would like to be in a zone like this one day, i want to know why in this zones live in wars all time, i cannot understand why this people do not live in peace like other zones.
