Haaretz on its daily warpath

Once again the Haaretz newspaper is on the warpath, targeting its bitter Zionist enemy, the State of Israel.

Note the following headlines from the past 24 hours:

"Hamas fires four rockets from Gaza into Israel, in rare move"  [Since when is it rare for Hamas to fire rockets at Israel or try to kill Jews? Just 3 days earlier, the Hamas orchastrated a rocket attack on Eilat]

"IDF deploys tanks near Egypt border, in violation of peace treaty" [Ooops, Haaretz forgot to mention in the headline this was to quash a halt a real-time terror attack originating from the Egyptian held Sinai deset, in which an Israeli was killed.]

"Israel agrees to release hunger-striking Palestinian soccer player" [Why bother mentioning in the headline that he's affiliated with terrorist organizations?]

Yet do we see Haaretz mention anything about Israeli MK Ahmed Tibi's refusing to allow a space museum in the Israeli Arab of town -- to be named for Israel's first astronaut, Ilan Ramon?  Not a word.
Knesset Member Ahmad Tibi (United Arab List-Ta'al) has asked Science and Technology Minister Daniel Hershkowitz (Habayit Hayehudi) to cancel the plan to name a new space center in Tayibe after Ilan Ramon, the first Israeli astronaut.

Ramon was killed along with six other crew members of the Space Shuttle Columbia when it disintegrated upon re-entry on February 1, 2003.

MK Tibi explained his request by saying that during his service as a fighter pilot in the Israel Air Force Ramon took part in "bombings of civilian populations during the first Lebanon war and in attacks in other Arab countries." (ynet)
Unless you consider yourself an anti-Zionist, its best to avoid reading Haaretz.

Haaretz and YNET burned by Royal Wedding Purim Spoof

The Jewish Chronicle in England had a Purim spoof story on their website this past Sunday, masquerading as a "real" news story.

The wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton will take place at Westminster Abbey amid the normal pomp of the Anglican ceremony.

But this time there will be crucial differences - including a traditional Jewish wedding practice.

Buckingham Palace is keen that the wedding takes account of the multi-cultural nature of modern British society, so Muslim, Hindu and Jewish traditions will be incorporated into the Church of England ceremony.

According to detailed wedding plans, due to be released on Sunday, a small amount of mehendi or turmeric, paste will be smeared on Kate's hand in a Muslim pre-wedding ritual. The couple will then offer each other a morsel of food to express mutual love and affection in accordance with the Hindu practice, and then William will smash a glass with his foot as at Jewish weddings.

Buckingham Palace spokesperson Esther Calthorpe-Watts said: "They want everyone to feel a part of the wedding. And while, religiously, the ceremony will be completely Anglican in nature, they felt it appropriate to include these small gestures towards other faiths. (The JC)

I thought it was pretty funny. What I found hilarious is that YNET and Haaretz saw the story, forgot it was Purim, and ran the story as if it were real news!

When they realized they had egg all over their faces, instead of admitting they were fooled by a Purim spoof, they simply DELETED the story page, hoping no one would notice.

Of course, the Muqata notices everything, and here's a google cached copy of the story.

Haaretz Orginal Link (deleted). Google's Cached Copy of the Haaretz story.
YNET Original Link (deleted). Google the story and press the magnifying glass next to the ynet link to see a screen snapshot of the (deleted) story.

Reagrdless, here's a screenshot of the Haaretz Story:

What were they thinking?

That no one knows how to use the internet to see goof-ups? I would think that Haaretz would be respectable enough to admit they made a mistake.

Oh well. Yet another reason I don't subscribe to Haaretz...

When Haaretz had no problem with a Jewish State

June 28, 1948 Ha'aretz Headline:

Today the Israeli Army will Swear Allegiance
to its Nation, Land, and Country.

I guess Ha'aretz didn't mind back then because it was before 1967.

Which Newspaper is Lying?

Clearly, both of these utterly opposite stories cannot be true. Either the Jerusalem Post or Haaretz is completely misrepresenting and inverting what Kitty Schenker (wife of Hadassah-University Medical Center obstetrician and gynecologist Prof. Joseph Schenker ) said about Nobel Prize winner Dr. Robert Edwards.

Jerusalem Post, today:

How Nobel laureate went from Israel opponent to admirer

Nobel Prize in Medicine winner Dr. Robert Edwards’s antipathy for the Jews of Palestine dissolved into great admiration for the Jewish state in 1989, thanks to a two-hour car tour with Kitty Schenker, the wife of Hadassah-University Medical Center obstetrician and gynecologist Prof. Joseph Schenker, who had invited him to a Jerusalem conference on in-vitro fertilization.
...
"From then on, he had changed views of Israel," Schenker recalled.
Haaretz, today:

Nobel-winning IVF pioneer has little love for his No. 1 consumer - Israel
"In 1946, he began his service at the Tzrifin army base [near present-day Rishon Letzion], where he belonged to a special unit," said Professor Joseph Shenkar, an associate of Edwards and formerly the director of obstetrics and gynecology at Hadassah University Hospital, Ein Karem.

"During a retaliatory operation carried out by the Etzel underground, five officers from his unit were kidnapped and executed near Netanya. Since then, he has not expressed a fondness for the Zionist homeland, and his attitude toward Israel became chilly."
Lying or intentionally misrepresenting Israel? I'd put my money on Haaretz.

Anat Dot Com Breaking News; Disk "lost"

In newly released for publication revelation from the Anat Kamm and Haaretz Reporter Uri Blau (alleged) espionage case; the disk with with the additional 1950 stolen and classified IDF documents -- has "disappeared."

YNET reports today (only currently in Hebrew), that one of the CDs burned by Kamm, and given to Blau has disappeared and no one knows where it is.

It could have been thrown out in the trash, or might be hanging from someone's rear-view car mirror in Netanya, or they could be in the hands of Iran, Hizbollah, Hamas, Fatah or Bin-Laden.

The IDF is now working under the assumption that the files have fallen into the hands of Israel's enemies, and are changing hundreds of operational plans.

The utter irresponsibility of Anat Kamm and Uri Blau towards the security of the State of Israel is staggering.

Don't ignore the political angle

by Lurker

A number of people have complained about Jameel's recent post on the Anat Kamm spy scandal, objecting to the fact that Jameel addressed the issue of Kamm's political motivations for her crime. In a comment on the post, for example, tafka pp suggests that Kamm's politics are irrelevant to the issue:
There is a lot to discuss here and a lot to get shocked and angry over.
Yet The Muqata, for a reason unfathomable to me, chooses to present an entirely political angle...
I'm sorry, but there most definitely is a political angle here. A very, very big one. The media has reported quite unambiguously that Kamm did what she did for "ideological reasons", and even Kamm's attorneys do not deny that.

Well, if she did it for "ideological reasons", then what ideology is that, exactly? I think we all know the answer to that. And why should the issue of that ideology, and its relationship to the criminal acts that the ideology spurred, be a forbidden topic of discussion?

Why should we tiptoe around the 800-pound gorilla in the middle of the room?

The Israeli media and leftist political leaders have been quite vocal of late in voicing their objections to the service of right wing religious people in the army, charging that their allegiance to their own ideological values trumps their loyalty to the State and the army, and thus poses a "threat to Democracy". The rightists' ideological beliefs, it is argued, makes them inherently disloyal.

So why, exactly, is it legitimate to raise these concerns about ideological rightists in the army, but illegitimate to raise analogous concerns about ideological leftists? This is a glaringly obvious political double standard, one that we would be remiss in ignoring.

It should be noted, too, that the supposed "threat" posed by ideological rightists in the army is their potential refusal of orders to forcibly expel Jewish families from their homes and destroy their communities. Such a refusal poses no immediate, tangible military threat to Israeli security. The threat posed by ideological leftists like Kamm, on the other hand, poses "a direct and real threat to the lives of IDF soldiers and Israeli citizens", in the words of GSS chief Yuval Diskin.

The left brands the phenomenon of conscientious objection by ideological rightists as a "threat to Democracy". These leftists (in a display of embarrassingly stupendous ignorance) define "Democracy" as the "Rule of Law" -- insisting that Israel be run as a "Medinat Hok" ("State of Law"), and that the law be strictly enforced with an iron fist against any rightist who dares to disobey a military order that conflicts with his or her conscience. But when it comes to a brazen leftist criminal like Anat Kamm, there is no such "threat to Democracy" perceived in her actions. On the contrary, in this case, it is the very suggestion that she should be prosecuted for her crimes at all that is branded a "threat to Democracy" by Kamm, Haaretz and their fellow travellers! Gone and forgotten by these leftists is all their self-righteous pontification about the "Rule of Law" and "Medinat Hok".

That is rank, outrageous, baldfaced hypocrisy.

So please, let's not kid ourselves into pretending that there is no "political angle" here. There most certainly is. The left would very much like us to ignore it, so that there will be nobody to object the next time they stir up a frenzy against a religious solder who dares to refuse orders to throw a woman and her children out of their home in the middle of the night. For right now, while the spotlight is on Anat Kamm, they would like us to forget about the sacred imperative to "obey orders", and how failure to do so "endangers Democracy". They would like to intimidate us into ignoring their hypocrisy.

I, for one, refuse to be intimidated.

Treason and Treachery by Israel's Leftists

Walla Gossip Reporter Anat Kamm
Soldier/Spy/Traitor.
Today, an Israeli court ordered that the media blackout be partially lifted on the highly secretive case we reported on the other day.

Some of the newly released details are rather sordid and reveal the mindset of some of Israel's ideological leftists -- Anat Kamm, a soldier spy who illegally stole and copied to CD highly classified documents -- over 2000 of them, while serving as a soldier in the IDF's Central Command.

After leaving the IDF, Kamm became a gossip columnist for the Walla news/gossip site and passed the documents to a leftwing, agenda-driven reporter with Haaretz, Uri Blau.

Using these stolen, classified documents, Blau wrote an article in Dec. 2008 which discussed the killing of Palestinian terrorists by the IDF. Blau alleged that the army had held discussions which revealed that the IDF ignored High Court rulings in regards to the targeted killings. Blau claimed the killings were carried out following orders issued by the IDF, even in cases in which the wanted terror suspects could have been arrested.

In September 2009, Blau, via his attorney, handed the Shin Bet 50 of the stolen documents he had received from Kamm. Yet the IDF and Shin Bet's investigation revealed that Kamm had copied and later transferred more than 2,000 documents to the Haaretz reporter -- and Blau had lied to the Shin Bet when he said the 50 files was "all he had."

YNET reports that "some of the documents detailed plans for past and future IDF operations, summaries of meetings between senior IDF officers, combat doctrines, Central Command defense plans, ways of dealing with a possible flare-up in the territories and information on the deployment of IDF forces. "

The Haaretz reporter, Uri Blau has fled to London to avoid arrest by Israel.

With the details released for publication by Israel's court, Haaretz quickly ran to defend their reporter, saying that the Blau's articles were approved for publication by the IDF censor,. Haaretz criticized the Shin Bet:

"Haaretz regrets the sudden change in the Shin Bet's position and its consequences, which have resulted in threats and heavy pressure on a reporter who was just doing his job.

Of course, Haaretz makes no mention that their intrepid reporter knowingly used stolen classified documents, lied to the IDF, and failed to return 2000 stolen files to the IDF as he had agreed.

Now, Israeli intelligence sources are concerned that Blau is a target for hostile intelligence agencies towards Israel and they are already hunting down Blau in London. These agencies plan on exerting physical violence to force Blau to turn over the 2000 stolen, classified IDF files.

How ironic.

Blau's treason and treachery against Israel may end up getting him killed by anti-Zionist agents -- those aligned with the same groups he advocated for, as a leftist agenda-driven Haaretz reporter.

Haaretz Misleads with Obama Poll

The JPost has the scoop today -- though its not really a scoop.

Last week Haaretz deceived the Israeli public with their article about US Vice President Joe Biden's comments at a satire event, took his comments out of context, implied that his comments were serious, and used them as a pretext to further their agenda of discrediting Jewish building in Jerusalem.

Then...Haaretz's Friday headline was Haaretz poll: Most Israelis see Obama as fair and friendly

And the article opens with a gushing review of President Obama:

U.S. President Barack Obama's popularity may be declining in American public opinion, but a sweeping majority of Israelis think his treatment of this country is friendly and fair, according to a Haaretz-Dialog poll conducted this week.

The poll also found that most Israelis don't believe politicians who call Obama anti-Semitic or hostile to Israel, or who say he is "striving to topple Netanyahu."

However, the JPost reports:

Haaretz misled readers to give the impression that an overwhelming majority of Israelis see US President Barack Obama as “fair and friendly” toward the country, the newspaper’s pollster, Tel Aviv University professor Camil Fuchs, said on Sunday.

The English edition elaborated near a picture of Obama that “69% say Obama is fair and friendly.”

The story itself gives no numbers, but the lead says “A sweeping majority of Israelis think his treatment of this country is friendly and fair.”

The English edition contains no graphic distributing the actual numbers, either online or in print.

The print and online versions of the newspaper’s Hebrew edition included a graphic indicating that just 18 percent of respondents considered Obama “friendly” toward Israel, 3 percentage points fewer than the 21% who called the president “hostile” to the Jewish state.

Read the rest of the JPost expose here.

Haaretz bills itself as the "Newspaper for Thinking People" -- the reality is more like "Haaretz: The newspaper where we do the thinking for you, distort poll data to fit our agenda, attempt to discredit the Jewish State, and ensure you follow our paper's ideology through lies and deception."

Israel Helps Haiti, Ha'aretz Bashes Israel

As Israel and the IDF performs a spellbinding Kiddush Hashem, providing world-class emergency medical services in a state-of-the-art field hospital to the earthquake battered country of Haiti, you can count on Ha'aretz to ruin the moment.

Ha'aretz blasts the Zionist State: Israel's compassion in Haiti can't hide our ugly face in Gaza

Akiva Eldar insists that any good we're doing in Haiti must be underscored by Israel's "indifference to the ongoing suffering of the people of Gaza"
But the remarkable identification with the victims of the terrible tragedy in distant Haiti only underscores the indifference to the ongoing suffering of the people of Gaza. Only a little more than an hour's drive from the offices of Israel's major newspapers, 1.5 million people have been besieged on a desert island for two and a half years. Who cares that 80 percent of the men, women and children living in such proximity to us have fallen under the poverty line? How many Israelis know that half of all Gazans are dependent on charity, that Operation Cast Lead created hundreds of amputees, that raw sewage flows from the streets into the sea?
After blaming all of Gaza's ills on Israel and the IDF, Eldar manages to choke out the following: True, Haiti's militias are not firing rockets at Israel.

How lovely. Gazans overwhelmingly support Hamas and its policies. Hamas shoots rockets at us, kidnaps our soldiers, attacks our civilian cities, and yet Israel's responsible.

Eldar's conclusion? "Even the images of our excellent doctors in Haiti cannot blur our ugly face in the Strip."

Goldstone would be proud.

In fact, all we need to do is rename Ha'aretz to "The Daily Goldstone Report"

The Shabbat Elevator Debacle Continues

Never missing an opportunity to take a religious issue and paint it in the most ugly shades of hate possible, Haaretz provides the following daily cartoon:

The Haaretz English edition is more reserved (Could it be that its more reserved so as not to appear antisemitic in front of the whole planet? There are notable anti-religious exceptions like Bradley Burston, the translated articles from Gideon Levy, etc.)

Their English edition story about the Shabbat Elevator ruling brings reactions from residents at an Ultra Orthodox nursing home, and is far more newsworthy.
Tovei Ha'Ir residents have been using elevators on the Sabbath for years - this is the only way they can get from their rooms on the upper floors to the dining hall and synagogue.

One of the retirees, a Haredi man, barely concealed his sarcasm when he responded, "What changed suddenly? What was kosher until now is suddenly treyf?"

Another woman was releaved to hear the edict was issued by Rabbi Yosef Sholom Elyashiv, the head of the Lithuanian Haredi community.

"Lucky for me that he isn't my rabbi," she said. "I only follow the Gerrer rebbe," she said.

Residents were unanimous in their opposition.

This is an edict that will not work," one said. "If we all adhere to it, not only will we not leave our rooms on Shabbat, but life in places like Manhattan will come to a standstill."

Meanwhile, the Hareidim website brings an even more ridiculous angle. Citing an unnamed source, "close to R' Shalom Elyashiv" -- "the cartoon that was published in a secular newspaper shows the depth of their frustration that there are Jews willing to climb up the stairs for 12 floors, so as not to transgress the Shabbat."

The Enemy Within - Blaming "Greedy" Victims

Israel's in an uproar today over a Swedish newspaper's allegations blood libel that IDF soldiers are killing Palestinians to harvest their organs.
"Leading Swedish daily Aftonbladet claimed Tuesday that IDF soldiers killed Palestinians in order to trade in their organs, adding that this suspicion may lead to an international war crimes investigation against Israel. (ynetnews)"
You don't have to go to far away Ikealand to see the same sort of venomous libel...unfortunately we have the same, even in Israel.

Nehemia Shtrasler decides in Haaretz that the settlers from Gush Katif actually wanted the Disengagement, so that they could milk Israel dry from government compensation.

The offending passage reads:

The settlers in Gaza won big time. They had two goals: to extract huge amounts of compensation from the government and to keep the issue on the public agenda as an open wound, as a traumatic and costly experience in the extreme so that all politicians who might dream of a similar solution in the West Bank would tell themselves that it is impossible.

Later in the article Shtrasler libels further:

At this point we have spent NIS 8.1 billion on the evacuation, including NIS 4.9 billion in investment in infrastructure and direct compensation to families. It's a huge, unreasonable sum and it's not final. At the evacuation administration, they expect the final amount to grow to about NIS 10 billion! These are much larger amounts than the Sinai evacuees received, but the former Gaza residents continue to play the role of victims of injustice, demanding more and more so that the wound will never heal.

My friend Robert Klein notes:

It is such a patent lie that the victims of Disengagement "extracted huge amounts of compensation", that I hope representatives of the victims sue Haaretz & Shtrasler for libel. Poetically, I do hope they extract huge amounts of compensation from both libelers.

For those unaware or who've forgotten, the Gazan Jews didn't want *any* compensation; they wanted to stay in their homes and communities. They and the Right protested the entire concept of the illegal and immoral evictions. It was the likes of Haaretz and Shtrasler who supported Disengagement and the compensation made necessary by the plan.

Moreover, the compensation plan did not take into account the economic suffering that would be incurred, i.e. loss of livelihood, for the majority whose jobs were tied to their now-destroyed communities.

Worst of all, the government didn't pay, or paid so long after it was promised that when the money arrived, it didn't even cover the evictees' debts due to unemployment.

Shame on the libelers!

In addition to Sweden, Nehemia's is in good company. I found some more examples of those who blame victims as "greedy".

1. Those Greedy Holocaust survivors.

Gonzo: 04-26-2005, 12:47 AM

An Israeli government report that claims to be the first of its kind has set material damage to the Jewish people during the Holocaust at some $240 billion to $330 billion (http://www.iht.com/articles/2005/04/20/news/holocaust.php)

They have blackmailed and are still raping the swiss banks...now with this report, one can see what lies ahead for the Jew mafia .

These greedy jew bastards wont be happy untill they own everything in this world.......The holocaust is a gift to the Zionists...It makes me wonder....If there were no "holocaust" where would the jews be today?...

what a scam !

Gonzo: 04-26-2005, 01:14 AM
there is no stopping them.......Only war can stop the jews and their constant extortion and exploitation.....

They bought up all of Germany in the 1920's for pennies on the dollar due to their ownership of the banks.......Hitler put a stop to the thievary.....and now the thieves are demanding back their ill gotten gains that doesnt even belong to them in the first place.

I just wish once i would hear ONE JEW on Pravda denounce what Zionism is doing in regards to this extortion. not once does a jew denounce the behavior of their leadership.

Thats why i say phuek off to you when someone says......"denounce Zionism and not jews"....This illusion they play is nothing more then good cop - bad cop .....

2. Gaddafi's son: Relatives of Lockerbie Victims 'greedy'

Saif Islam Gaddafi said the Lockerbie families had traded with "the blood of their sons and daughters" during negotiations over payouts for the deaths of loved ones.

His outburst infuriated relatives of those who died in Britain's worst terrorist attack.

Mr Gaddafi, who is seen by many as likely to succeed his father, also told the BBC that the Libyan government had only taken responsibility for the disaster in order to get international sanctions lifted.

"You have to ask the families of the victims," he said. "The negotiation with them, it was very terrible and very materialistic and was very greedy. They were asking for more money and more money and more money."

He added: "I think they were very greedy and I think they were trading with the blood of their sons and daughters."

3. Jail the 'greedy' scam victims, says Nigerian diplomat

THE Nigerian high commissioner says people who are ripped off by so-called Nigerian scams are just as guilty as the fraudsters and should be jailed.

Responding to a story in yesterday's Herald, which revealed Australians lose at least $36 million a year to the online scams, Sunday Olu Agbi said Australians had failed to heed repeated warnings not to deal with shady characters on the internet.

Kudos Nehemia. Why not freelance for the Swedish daily Aftonbladet as well?

IDF Prosecutor Closes Case on abuse in Gaza.

What started out as a roar, has died down to nothing.

After Haaretz reported (and opinioned) that IDF soldiers intentionally shot and killed innocent Gazan civilians, the IDF Chief Prosecutor opened an investigation into alleged war crimes.

The IDF Chief Prosecutor, Brigadier General Avi Mandelblit quickly determined that the "facts" presented by Haaretz, were totally unsubstantiated by any factual evidence whatsoever. (YNET)

This was blatantly obvious to me at the time, since the primary mission of Haaretz to is slander the Israel and the IDF, and with so many religious soldiers and officers, the IDF is a prime target.

Till the next time (probably tomorrow).

PS: Here's a good example from last week. See how Haaretz believes it's a crime against humanity for religious officers to avoid mixed swimming. The cultural elite of Israel's liberal left is so anti-religious that that they insist on forced melting pot secularization to the point that they believe letting religious soldiers NOT attend mixed swimming events is evil.

Allegations agaisnt IDF based on rumors, not fact.

Updated: In addition to my post below, the following YNET article appeared as well. There are probably thousands of furious IDF reserve soldiers who are disgusted by Haaretz's report, and the slander from an IDF NCO who wasn't even in Gaza (let alone seen battle).

"I don’t believe there were soldiers who were looking to kill (Palestinians) for no reason," said 21-year-old Givati Brigade soldier Assaf Danziger, who was lightly injured three days before the conclusion of Operation Cast Lead.

"What happened there was not enjoyable to anyone; we wanted it to end as soon as possible and tried to avoid contact with innocent civilians," he said.

...

A Paratroopers Brigade soldier who also participated in the war called the claims "nonsense". Speaking on condition of anonymity, he said "It is true that in war morality can be interpreted in many different ways, and there are always a few idiots who act inappropriately, but most of the soldiers represented Israel honorably and with a high degree of morality.

"For instance, on three separate occasions my company commander checked soldiers' bags for stolen goods. Those who stole the smallest things, like candy, were severely punished," he said.

"We were forbidden from sleeping in Palestinians' beds even when we had no alternate accommodations, and we didn’t touch any of their food even after we hadn't had enough to eat for two days."
Israel's most anti-Zionist Hebrew daily newspaper, Haaretz, let loose with a bombshell of an "exclusive expose" today about the IDF's actions during the "Cast Lead" operation in Gaza: IDF in Gaza: Killing civilians, vandalism, and lax rules of engagement

Haaretz "reports:"

During Operation Cast Lead, Israeli forces killed Palestinian civilians under permissive rules of engagement and intentionally destroyed their property, say soldiers who fought in the offensive.

The soldiers are graduates of the Yitzhak Rabin pre-military preparatory course at Oranim Academic College in Tivon. Some of their statements made on Feb. 13 will appear Thursday and Friday in Haaretz. Dozens of graduates of the course who took part in the discussion fought in the Gaza operation.
The reporter goes on to beat his own drum in a separate "analysis" piece entitled, "Can Israel dismiss its own troops' stories from Gaza?"

The statements of the Israel Defense Forces soldiers from the Yitzhak Rabin preparatory course provide the first, uncensored look at what occurred in some of the combat units in Operation Cast Lead.

It seems that what soldiers have to say is actually the way things happened in the field, most of the time. And as usual, reality is completely different from the gentler version provided by the military commanders to the public and media during the operation and after.

The soldiers are not lying, for the simple reason that they have no reason to. If you read the transcript that will appear in Haaretz Friday, you will not find any judgment or boasting. This is what the soldiers, from their point of view, saw in Gaza. There is a continuity of testimony from different sectors that reflects a disturbing and depressing picture.
Now, I know plenty of soldiers who saw action in Gaza during the "Cast Lead" operation, and no one that I know saw anything remotely similar to what Haaretz described.

Fast forward to a few minutes ago. Channel 2 TV Army correspondent Roni Daniel stated at 6:30 PM this evening, that he personally tracked down one of the soldiers interviewed for the Haaretz article. Apparently the soldier's testimony to Haaretz wasn't based on anything he personally saw or witnessed, rather based on rumors and hearsay he heard (and the soldier wasn't even in Gaza!)

Truth is rarely important to Haaretz, as long as it can bash the IDF, Israel, settlers, religious Jews, or anyone not agreeing with them. As a result of their propaganda article, the entire planet picked up on their "expose" and the poison keeps propagating around the world...
