San Francisco's Board of Supervisors versus Israel

Rabbosai, I'm posting this on Jameel's blog on behalf of Steffy at Pro-Israel Bay Bloggers. Please read, and forward on. Most importantly, please contact the San Francisco Supervisors with facts and arguments against the resolution condemning Israel, which they will vote on this coming Tuesday.

It does not matter that many of you do not live in San Francisco - let the SF Board of Supervisors know your opinion!

On June 9th, 2010, San Francisco City Supervisors John Avalos, David Campos, Chris Daly and Sophie Maxwell introduced a resolution savagely condemning Israel’s interdiction of the Gaza Flotilla, and calling for President Obama to work to end the "siege on Gaza".

It's up for a vote by the board next week:
Tuesday June 15th, 2PM - 4PM.

Meddling in international affairs is typical of San Francisco.
But if San Francisco is going to rampage all over the purview of the US State Department, surely the SF Board of Supervisors should be aware that there might be consequences?

As a future voter in David Chiu's district, I have an interest in seeing him do the right thing.

Here's the contact data of our supervisors.
If you call them, be polite to the phone-staff and MAKE SURE that they will take the message.

if you are going to contact avalos, remind him that israel is the only military in the entire middle east that allows openly gay people to serve.

The resolution in its windbaggish entirety is too long to post here.

Please note that the San Francisco Sentinel supports Israel, and condemns the puffed-up pretentiousness that so often informs public discourse in Baghdad by the Bay.
